The Queen’s Chronicles – Spring Break

Happy Monday! Just catching up with The Queen’s Chronicles sharing a little of our long weekend. Spring break for us is never too extravagant due to baseball season but we do try to have a little fun. Carly Jo & I escaped to Austin for a little shopping and had the best day. We had beautiful sunny weather but goodness the wind!

The Queen's Chronicles

Of course what’s a day away without some ice cream! We splurged and grabbed Jenni’s ice cream which I’m still dreaming about. Carly kept it simple with the honey vanilla bean but I favored the goat cheese and cherry which was so amazing!

Spring Break #oldnavystyle #sundress

Carly has been really good lately about adding things to shopping carts online (stinker)! I’ve had several orders arrive with pieces for her that I had zero clue she ordered. This little sundress is one of them and I have to say it looked too darling on her to send back.

I’m also thinking about grabbing her white tennies for myself while DSW is having their sale. They have looked so cute with everything she has paired them with.

Mexican Food

We met Keith for Mexican food when we got back to town at a new little restaurant near us. We are fans of the fajitas for sure!

Boutique Shopping

More shopping on Saturday at some local boutiques. We were searching for something pink to wear to a sweet 16 party and Carly fell in love with this sweet little tank. The wrap top is also a new arrival that would be perfect for Easter. I did come home with these fun jeans after trying on a whim. Love them! You can always shop The Coterie Boutique with my code SHELLYJANAC for 10% off your purchase.

Sixty Vines Rice Village

Jordan & I headed to Houston on Friday afternoon to watch a Rice baseball game and had dinner with Dillon. We stayed the night and enjoyed brunch at Sixty Vines in Rice Village before heading home. It was delicious.

Sweet 16 Birthday

My friend Holly is the best at celebrating others and she through the sweetest Sweet 16 party. Of course Holden definitely knows what she likes and had alot to do with the theme! Lots of pink and gold and it was just the sweetest party with her sweet friends.

I’ve watched this girl bloom into just the most amazing young women over the last 16 years. She has changed so much but really, really just embraced who she is and it is just the most darling thing ever. I love her like one of my own and was just so excited to celebrate her.

Urban Table #brunch

Another day and another chance to brunch. Carly spent the night with friends so Keith and I were once again living that empty nest life. This omelet from Urban Table is one of my fave things to grab for brunch! We headed home for some yard work, grocery shopping and frying up the fish Keith caught on Saturday for our Sunday supper.

Sweet Girl

Our sweet grand and her momma finally came back from spring training after a month with dad and we were so excited to see them. She learned all kinds of new tricks while she was gone! It’s just crazy how fast they grow! We could not love her more!

I have been in a bit of a funk when it comes to working out but made it to the gym this morning albeit with a bad attitude! The same thing always happens, however, and by the end of the workout I was feeling so much better that it’s hard to stay mad! Now, to get some healthy meals on the table this week and ditch the dining out. We have been so bad about the quick fix the last few weeks.

Spring definitely motivates me to want to eat healthier, move more and organize all the things! What about you? Are you making any changes as we move into spring?
