Welcome to The Queen in Between blog! I’m Shelly, a Texas girl with a passion for making a positive influence. I love Mexican food, online shopping and (over)sharing about my life experiences. Professionally I hold a position as a Senior Financial Analyst for Texas A&M University where I’ve worked for the past 25 years (yes I started when I was 10). My passion for my family, friends, faith, food and fitness is only matched by a love for fashion and finally finding my own style.
You will find me sharing my sense of style which will definitely be pieces I love to wear in real life. Dressing myself has definitely been an evolution of sorts and finally midlife I’ve realized just because it’s trendy doesn’t mean it will work for my body type or lifestyle. As I’ve become more confident, my closet has grown but become more efficient. While I have added quality pieces, the growth is mainly attributed to my ability to combine what I have by mix and matching colors and patterns in a way I never was able to before.
Things you won’t find here….perfect punctuation, lots of crafts, any fairy tale other than my own! Being authentic is important to me and I border on being a little too honest at times which you can either find refreshing or disturbing if you are one of my family members. I love freely, forgive easily and if I’m being honest…..occasionally judge too quickly. I am a work in progress and thank God daily for His grace in overseeing my crazy life.
I’ve been married for the past 15 years to my absolute soulmate (que love story), Keith, who supports and loves me hard but also keeps me in check.
My super power is making beautiful babies and I’m the proud momma to four (ages 26, 23, 15 & 11) who have blessed me, challenged me and given me lots of great blog material over the years. You will see me refer to them as the Bigs and the Littles occasionally. Jordan, Riley, Dillon and Carly Jo have been my craziest adventure and more than I could have ever dreamed of.
