The Queen’s Chronicles – Holiday Fun

We kicked off December in full speed and haven’t slowed down and it doesn’t look like that is going to change until Christmas has come and gone!  Despite my best efforts I still have a ton of shopping to do plus all the baking.  I know it will all get done so I’m trying not to fret but the push is definitely on.

We kicked off December with our first two parties of the year.  Our favorite party on Friday was so fun but I decided to drink vodka and when there is a bartender pouring that was not the best choice.  Let’s just say Saturday was so long!

But I survived a trip to San Antonio and we had a nice time at Keith’s company Christmas party.  We even won a margarita blender complete with tequila and mixer!

Wednesday was the annual food for families food drive and it was cold and wet but definitely could have been worse.  It is always such a fun day to see everyone come out to donate to such a great cause.

Somehow I managed to find myself out for a late night visit to Target and Oh What Fun to have the quiet store to myself!  I may have not purchased much but I sure did walk down most aisles.

I don’t know why this made me laugh so hard but it sure did!

And then much to everyone’s surprise we welcomed snow on Thursday!  When the flurries started we all kind of laughed about it not sticking and then the next thing you know we are having snowball fights and trying to build a snowman!

The next morning was absolutely gorgeous!  So glad this one was so willing to take a quick picture before school.

I swung by Pier 1 on Friday night and grabbed a couple of my favorite Li Bien ornaments since they have been marked down 40% off.  I know I’ve said it before but I really love these ornaments and try to grab at least one every year.  They have the year painted on one side so I feel like they make a great annual ornament too.

Saturday we ran Dillon to a high school playoff game and Dutch was so excited to join us for the ride.

Then Carly Jo and I hit the town and ran a few errands like finally dropping off some donations and hitting the Chick-Fil-A drive thru!

I had so much to do but when I remembered this production of The Nutcracker that evening I decided it would be a fun treat.  True story; this was my first time to ever see The Nutcracker.  Yes for real!  It was amazing and I loved it!

We are getting a lot of wear our of these tops we picked up!  My lace top is under $25.

One of Carly’s good friends was actually in the production so that was fun!  Sunday we finished pulling the house together and had some hot chocolate.  Carly loves the new mug I picked up for her!   The rest of Sunday we spent at Blessings in Bags packing up staples for local families in need to have over the holidays.

If you have ever wanted to volunteer with your kids I highly suggest you check in with your local foodbank or food pantry.  There are typically so many opportunities for people of all ages to serve.

We have events Monday and Tuesday but then I think we are free the rest of the week.  Hopefully I can knock out the rest of my shopping and start the process of baking cookies!  Around here I will be sharing our Christmas card and our holiday decorations.

What do you have going on this week?
