Hey friends, happy Friday! We made it to the end of the week and it’s time to celebrate right? Today is the first day of fall but judging by the condensation on my interior windows I’m going to guess Texas didn’t get the memo and we are in for another hot and humid day. Here are a few of my favorite things this week!
This hot little mess turns 12 today! Celebrating Carly Jo is easy because she is totally and utterly excited about ANYTHING you do to celebrate. The thing about Carly is she knows how to celebrate herself and she’s just so excited to be alive every day. I’m going to take her and a couple of her school friends for ice cream after school today and we will celebrate with family over dinner tonight but her real celebration will be a girls weekend away with her bestie. I’ll be sure to fill you in with a full birthday review next week!
I’ve been working with some interior designers to complete our main living room and help me create some more functional space in our breakfast area and it has inspired me to start working on planning some changes for our “front room”. Currently the front room of our house, intended to be a formal dining area, is a slight hodge podge. Our old couch is residing there and it is really just way too large for the space. The kids use this room to kind of hang out so there is a TV and gaming station and Dillon is insisting he would rather just have bean bags or chairs and not a couch. I need some furniture and a rug that will work for kids who never take their food into that room (but somehow there is always food there) and dog who sheds. In researching the best for dogs, leather and microfiber seem to be the top contenders. I’m finding sofas I love with no problem but the chairs so far I’m not 100% sure.
I do love the mix of these colors and as a family we have kind of decided a signature color we love is blue so I’m going to try to use a touch of blue in each room.
If you love West Elm, the friends and family sale is currently in progress and they always have some fun things to choose from!
If you are catching up, this week around here I did a little catching up with The Queen’s Chronicles. The biggest news is Riley will be leaving Monday for Florida and then a little later for Arizona to participate in the Arizona Fall League. We will be cheering on the Mesa Solar Sox and I’m working on a 4 night getaway for Keith and I and that will definitely be a favorite!
I also shared this casual camo look on Wednesday! Booties are also my favorite right now.
My favorite to write this week, however, was this little post with 3 Bullet Proof Tips to help you navigate your parenting adventure!
Looking forward to noon today as I’m taking half a day off and starting my weekend early! Hope you all have a beautiful weekend.
