The Queen’s Chronicles – Nashville

It has been a bit since I took off on my own for some me time with friends, so I jumped at the chance to meet up with my friends Lisa and Kellyann in Nashville. One of my dearest high school friends also lives there and it was fun to catch up with her too.

Since this was my third time to visit, it wasn’t so much about the touristy scene but more about just a change of scenery with some girl time. I did venture out for one really beautiful fall outing so follow along to see where I went!

Nashville Goody Bag

My friend from high school had this surprise waiting for me when I arrrived at my hotel. I was so excited as the one thing I had realized I forgot to pack was a ballcap and this one is darling. I’m happy to say this bottle of proseco also made it’s way back to Texas in my checked bag safely and I’m saving it for my birthday!

AC Marriott Brentwood

Since my friends live in Brentwood, I chose the AC Marriott for my stay. It is a relatively new hotel and I loved the modern feel. The rooms weren’t huge but the beds were comfortable and it had all the amenities I needed.

Sutler Saloon

I met up with my friend Kellyann and her son for brunch on my first day and he had picked out the Sutler Saloon. This is such a fun little brunch spot with live blue grass music and bottomless mimosas. The food was delicious too!

On day two we had a girls day full of lunch, a little browsing through some shops and pedicures. I loved getting to meet Lisa’s husband and daughter on this trip! We had afternoon oat milk lattes and yummy cookies at the Frothy Monkey on 12 South and dinner at The Local Taco which were both wins.

On Tuesday we headed out to Franklin to meet up with some other blog friends at Pucketts Grocery for lunch. It was fun meeting these 50+ bloggers Annie, Nanette and Kim in person. We browsed around a few shops as the weather threatened and I’m not sure what was going on but after lunch I was not feeling well so it was just not the day I had envisioned for sure.

I started the next day meeting up with my high school friend, Missy, and we took a 5 mile walk in Percy Warner Park. This Texas girl loved seeing some fall color and there was no shortage of words for sure!

The local taco was so good I went back for more! So many fun tacos to choose from, skinny margs that are so yummy and delicious queso.

That afternoon I debated going on a tour of the Rhyman Auditorium but another friend told me about Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. The weather was a gamble but I decided to take a chance and drove out. I was so glad I did! The grounds are beautiful and full of fall goodness like mums and pumpkins. There was even a scarecrow trail with artsy scarecrows decorated by local organizations. It was very relaxing and peaceful and I stayed until closing walking around.

Lisa cooked chicken chili and the yummiest cornbread muffins topped with cocount….trust me it sounds weird but it was amazing! We visited for hours while watching Dallas reruns and laughing about the acting and reliving how much we loved that show in our youth. Of course we had to grab a picture! My friend Kellyann could not quit raving about this blazer from Walmart! I will admit I touched it and the quality is good and I’m ordering it in off white.

Of course as much fun as it is to go away, it is always fun coming back home tooo and I could not wait to see Haisley Grace! She has just been learning new stuff so fast and it seems like she has a ton of new words every time I see her. She is definitely our little light!

I spent the rest of the weekend visiting my mom and then rushing back for some last minute shopping for Carly’s birthday party. She turned 16 in September and wanted a party with her friends but we really had a hard time finding a day that would work. With a school holiday today, brunch seemed like a great option! I’m looking forward to it almost as much as she is…..as soon as I get all the rest of the decor checked off. Speaking of…better sign off and get to it!

Hope you have a super week!
