Friday Favorites – Fall

The temps may not be feeling completely like fall here in Texas, but October is one of my favorite months of the entire year. We celebrate 5 birthdays in October and so it’s always a sure thing I’m going to see my kids and even a big chance I will have them all together at least once which makes me so happy! Here are a few other things I’m loving so far this fall.

Birthdays

My beautiful daughter, Jordan, turned 31 on Wednesday. It’s still really hard to grasp that I have a child this age but oh let me tell you how fun it is! It seems like she has truly just come back to her true self over the last few years and her spirit reminds me so much of the little girl she was but with a new wisdom of a grown woman who has a few life experiences under her belt. I LOVE spending time with her, hearing her share her journey and learning from her too!

Typically in Texas we have about 2 days of fall color. The leaves turn a beautiful color and then 2 days later they are all on the ground! it was fun to see these varying shades on my walk through Percy Warner park in Nashville. Side note, I have not worn Nikes in years but grabbed these during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and love them. Keith and Dillon also have a pair and love them. They are a splurge not on sale but they have a great arch support which is huge for me.

Plaid flannel is always a must for me in the fall and winter months and when I saw this color combo I knew I had to try it. I’m in LOVE with it and wore it multiple times on my trip. It makes a great layering piece but will also be great all on its own. If it’s still warm where you are, I found these shorts before my trip too and paired them with this flannel below for those warmer fall days. They come in SML sizing and I was able to wear the medium so I feel like they run TTS if not a little big.

Blog Besties

It was so great catching up in person wtih these two! I also was able to get to know Lisa’s husband and daughter as well as Kellyann’s son which was so fun. Lisa cooked us a great meal that was perfect for a rainy Nashville night and I’ll definitely be needing her recipe for white chicken chili and cornbread muffins topped with cocount!

My new obsession is oat milk after I had this oat milk latte at Frothy Monkey on this trip. I am not a sweet coffee drinker and this has just a hint of sweetness but makes the coffee creamy. I could get use to afternoon coffee chats with friends.

We headed over to Franklin for lunch with a few other bloggers who live in the area. If you love midlife fashion and wellness, you should definitely check out Annie, Kim and Nanette.

I’m loving fall dresses right now and this one would make a perfect choice for a visit to the pumpkin patch or for fall family photos. We really, really need some updated photos as every one of our peeps have changed and we’ve added new people. It’s always so hard to get my crew together but hoping we can make it happen!

Are you loving the change from summer to fall? I start to dread it getting dark earlier and earlier but at the same time look forward to the rest I know it brings. I’m headed for a little catching up with my momma this weekend. Hope you have a great one wherever you are!
