Introductions – Blogtember Challenge

·

So, I received a comment from Victoria Strayder and, since she is an Aggie and all, I headed on over to give her blog a look.  I was super duper excited to find out about this Blogtember challenge!  I mean, y’all, some months the ideas just flow like beer at a tailgate but other months the ideas are a scattered mess in my brain with no real chance for retrieval.  So friends, I may just drive you batty with a daily post but I am up for the challenge.  If you are interested in joining the fun, hop on over to Love Bailey Jean to find all the prompts.

For those of you who are new, my name is Shelly Janac (pronounced yah-notch) and I’m so excited you have hopped over to visit The Queen in Between.  I am a Texas based lifestyle blogger with a passion for making a positive influence on others.  On top of being a wife (cue love story here) and mom to four amazing children, I also hold a degree in accounting and work as a Senior Financial Analyst for Texas A&M University.

The Queen in Between blog was established in August of 2014 and I recently celebrated my 2 year Blogiversary.  The blog is home to stories about time spent with family and friends, sharing vacation tips and locations as well as favorite recipes and occasional fitness tips.  As a busy wife and mom, I also love sharing thoughts and experiences about marriage and parenting.

My “Bigs” were a blessing from my first marriage and I’m so amazed at the adults my daughter, Jordan and son, Riley have become.  Then there are the “Littles” from my second marriage (we just celebrated 15 years) and I’ve definitely enjoyed all the small things with these two after realizing with the “Bigs” how fast they would grow.  Dillon and Carly Jo definitely rounded out our little family perfectly.

Parenting is tough and I am always questioning whether we are doing enough.  My advice for parents comes straight from a Lysa Terkeurst quote “don’t take too much credit for their good; don’t take to much credit for their bad”.  While parenting is all about guiding, mentoring and shaping, it is also about teaching kids to think for themselves even when it is not exactly the way you might think!

While this is primarily a lifestyle blog, I have also received a positive response when sharing my personal style through fashion.  Pulling together outfits for my readers has truly increased the size of my closet in a very positive way!

I am excited to take part in the Blogtember challenge and hope you will stop back by to hold me accountable!
