Stitch Fix August UnBoxing

·

Oh August you were….hot. I’d complain about how fast the month flew by but honestly I’m not sad about it. One of my favorite things was receiving my Stitch Fix August Box! I tried it on with a complete review saved to my Instagram Story Highlights but realized I never shared here with you!

For those of you who may be new to Stitch Fix, for $20 you can order a box containing 5 items for you to try. The box includes a prepaid bag you use to return anything you don’t love. There is also a 25% discount for purchasing all items. If you are brand new to Stitch Fix, with my referral code you can actually receive $25 off your first fix!

So how do they decide what to send? Well you tell them of course! You have an opportunity to fill out a style profile and also send a quick note to your stylist. I’ve also created a Pinterest board for Stitch Fix to use to identify the looks I love.

I’ve heard from many the items just seem too pricey. Well, you do have the opportunity to give feedback on price too both as you are filling out your style profile and upon returning items. Personally I’m willing to pay a little more sometimes for an item not everyone may have. You will see I’ve included the items with all the details below!

stitch Fix Kimono

You may recognize this kimono as it was a keeper in another color from my Spring Stitch Fix. I love the style of this kimono so much as it is a little more fitted on the sides. The first one I wore like crazy right up until I ripped it!

One feature I had not noticed until this summer is once you have ordered a piece you can view it in other sizes/colors/patterns in your profile. When I saw this kimono I decided to ask for it to be added to my August box. I think this feature would be expecially handy for jeans.

This color just didn’t seem to suit me quite as well and I wasn’t as crazy over the larger floral pattern so it was returned.

Stitch Fix Romper

I pinned a similar romper to my Pinterest board and my stylist delivered. Rompers/jumpsuits, whichever you refer to them, they are hard for me with my short upper body and long legs. This style seems to work the best and I immediately loved the pattern.

My only issue with this piece was the length. While I think it was probably meant to be a little cropped, the length just felt awkward to me. Since we are gearing up for fall I really needed to feel like this could transition with booties in a month or so and the length just didn’t feel right.

Of course, almost every time I return something and then look back at these pictures I have return remorse. Ha! I am kind of wishing I had given this more of a chance but for $74 I just had to pass.

Stitch Fix Tank and Patterned Shorts

These shorts were so precious! I really think the colors would have allowed me to easily pull them into fall with warm toned tops in shades of olive or mustard yellow. Even though these shorts are perfectly stretch and fit so well, right now I’m just not really loving my legs. I knew for the price these were not a wise choice for me.

This tank, however, was really fun and the zipper detail gives it a little different look. Navy is going to really be big this fall and I can totally see this paired under my camel cardigan. Simple and easy and a color I don’t have much of in my closet made this a keeper.

Sitch Fix Blouse

Not going to lie, I wanted to keep this blouse so much! It was so flattering and I thought of a bajillion ways I could wear it. My closet, however, is full of floral tops so similar to this one. After debating back and forth and styling it with several different looks, I ultimately decided it had to go back.

Receiving a Stitch Fix is so fun to me. One of my biggest suggestions is to always try every piece even if you do not think you will love it. I’ve been pleasantly surprised many times.

My rules for the Stitch Fix are similar for my regular shopping rules. Items must be cross functional and work for work and play. The item must also work with something already in my closet.

Now, my next fix will be coming soon but I’ve been stumped on what I would like to tell my stylist. I definitely need a new pair of white jeans but what are some other things you would like to see me try for fall? Transition pieces? Jackets? Fall colors? Help a sister out and let me know!

If you have never tried Stitch Fix, I’d love for you to use this referral code to grab $25 off your first fix. Yes, that means I receive a kickback too but then you will have your very own referral code!

Coming next week is a brand new link up I’m co-hosting with these 5 ladies! Blogging brought us all together and now we want to share our love of fashion with all of you. Join us for the inagural Style Six linkup next Wednesday!
