Ageless Style - Unexpected Combo - The Queen In Between

September Ageless style is here and Daenel encouraged us to try a little something unexpected. I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous to see if I could actually pull something off!

Not going to lie, I originally thought this months theme was “anything goes” which didn’t freak me out quite as much. I’ve come a long way but my closet is still a long way from unexpected!

So imagine my surprise as I noticed these two pieces hanging next to one another fresh from the wash waiting to be steamed. Hmm…I quickly saw them together and decided it was worth a shot.

Y’all, this swing dress has been in my closet for several years and I’ve worn it several different ways as well as alone. I wore it a week or so back and had honestly decided it was time to say goodbye. Isn’t it crazy how something we once loved becomes boring?

Well, I’m thinking this little combo definitely brought some new life to an old favorite. Not only did the new pop of color brighten it up a little, tying the top over the swing dress gave it a different shape.

Plus, really want to stretch your style, try a little stripe on stripe! It’s not my first time with this combo but it’s been awhile. See the last time I paired these two up here and see how I also snuck in another print.
