The Queen’s Chronicles – Color{ful} Life
Spring is in full bloom here in Texas and driving is pretty much my favorite. Wild flowers are in full bloom along the Texas highways and it is such a beautiful site. We have been adding lots of color to our lives lately too with new foods to try, a few new items for the newly organized closet and lots of fun activities! Come along for an update to the Queen’s Chronicles!
Jordan and I had our monthly date night and headed out for some sushi. I was feeling so joyful and blessed after our visit and you may have read my social media post after but I’m sharing again here. When I was a 21 year old single college student with no real way to support myself, I also became a momma to this girl. There were definitely some who would have called my circumstance a mistake but this unplanned joy saved my life. My past has been far from story book perfect and even now, with a greater sense of who I am, I still fall short every day. I love the quote from Brene Brown “Grace means all your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame”. Don’t let the world define you by what is perceived as a mistake in your life! Because of grace you get to choose how your story plays out.
My friend Amy talked me into giving Lip Sense a try and I’ll try to post a review soon but, y’all, I’m still blown away it leaves no lip stain on my coffee mug!! I do love the color too. Plus, Amy was once a sweet little sales girl at local boutique and now she’s an even more adorable SAHM of 3 precious little ones so she’s hard to resist!
We also headed off for a weekend away with our besties and stopped in Waco on the way to Dallas. Little Miss thought this towel was hilarious and maybe just a tad true.
Anyone could learn more about being a good friend from hanging out with these two for a few days . It’s incredible how real they are with each other yet, also, just so accepting. I love that they have each other stored in their phone as “sister”.
Reunited for church and Chuy’s on the last day of spring break!
I just had to snap a picture of Carly Jo’s little outfit. She was pattern mixing like a pro! Plus, I’m still not 100% comfortable mixing brown with black but she totally rocked this look.
Finally, Holden’s birthday finally arrived and we celebrated at a favorite family hang out, Wings N More, with laughs and ice cream cake. #mcjanacs
Holly and I were super excited to meet up with Kim who has been such a sweet supporter of both of us since we became bloggers. She and her daughter came on a Texas roadtrip and we were thrilled they added College Station to the list!
Y’all, every single year this pops up on my Timehop and every single year I laugh so hard I almost cry! One year I added this scarf to Jordan’s Easter basket. One day she was redoing it at work and as she had it all unfolded her boss said “did you know there is a tiger on there?”. Y’all, I had no idea!! I mean WTH. So dang funny!
Ahhh….back to my favorite time of year and I finally got to see this one on the mound from the beginning of a game! I love watching him so much develop and grow. While he does remind me alot of Riley with his delivery, he is built so much differently and his build reminds me so much of my dad when he was young.
Dillon has also raided all of Riley’s TCU gear and sports purple cleats. How lucky was he to have school colors the same as TCU?! I laughed because my friend Katy said “I think his legs are as long as my entire body” and I think she’s right!
One thing you learn when you have boys who pitch and who are a bit wild, sometimes there has to be a little mound visit to get you back on track and to kill time because the kid you hit is having to walk it off. Yikes! Dillon pegged a kid right in the ankle bone.
These girls only missed seeing each other one day out of the past ten! Holden stayed with us Friday night and I made them pancakes Saturday morning which they devoured.
We headed to see Beauty and the Beast on Saturday afternoon and, friends, if you haven’t seen this movie make it a priority!! It was so darn good!! I was so filled with emotion the entire time. It was so beautiful and I headed straight home to download the soundtrack.
Kimono (similar)|Boyfriend Jeans (similar)|Clutch|Skirt(on sale)|Dress (on sale)
I made a pitstop into J. Crew Factory on my way to my hometown on Sunday. The 1st picture is my own outfit from home and I am so excited to start wearing this kimono. I picked it up at the beginning of fall from my friend Sandy at Burlap and Pearls and have already worn in twice this week! The striped clutch was a last minute addition and I’m kind of crazy about how it paired with floral. I debated the olive green skirt and probably will regret not snagging it. I mean the color is great and pockets! I did come home with the white dress. I was impressed with how much cuter it was off the hangar and the material was super soft which I wasn’t expecting. Thinking it may be my Easter dress with a few fun accessories.
She will kill me but I couldn’t not share this! My mom is having a little procedure this morning which required drinking a gallon of some nasty liquid. We decided it would be easier from a wine glass! I thought this was hilarious, her, not so much. Praying things go really smoothly for her this morning as she is super anxious and a teeny bit dramatic. I had to laugh because if we ever even insinuate that she is “old” she freaks out but she was quick to play the elderly card when it came to this being “too much” for her.
Now I’m off to hide in the closet and eat this sausage and egg frittata before she smells it!
Wishing you all a super week!
