Holly Jolly Home 2016

Holiday Decor
Christmas is my favorite time of year to be home.  I love sitting by the tree light with a cup of tea or a glass or wine watching a favorite holiday movie or listening to tunes while wrapping gifts. Something about the lights just makes me want to slow down a bit.

This year I spent a little more on our front door mat than normal but I could not resist.  When I saw this adorable plaid I knew it was perfect and I snagged it while it was 30% off.  I love the size which is larger than I normally pick up so it was a win all the way around.  Welcome to my home!

Candles are my second favorite way to make every thing feel warm and cozy.  I just love the bokeh in this picture!  All the Christmas cards we receive end up making their way into my decor all around the house too.

My decor has remained fairly similar over the past several years but I did add this table from World Market; me and every other blogger.  It really is a great table though and if you watch closely they do run 30% off sales several times a year. For the sale price you just cannot go wrong.

The weather has been blah here for too long and I have not been able to capture any pictures of this years tree in natural light but honestly this all looks almost identical except I’ve changed out the chevron burlap for plaid ribbon around my tree.

These stockings are the main reason I will have a hard time ever moving away from traditional red and green decor.  I love them so much!  Back when Southern Living was around I grabbed these and then had them all monogrammed in a slightly different font.  I adore them!

Holiday Decor
I love adding an few new ornaments each year and this year I participated in a blogger ornament exchange hosted by Liz, Crystal, Beth, Stephanie, and Megan. How adorable is this sweet little truck Megan from The Adventure Starts Here sent me?!

I also love the Li Bien ornament collection at Pier 1.  Not only are they beautiful but the year is painted on as well so they serve as an annual momento.  Many are under $10 on sale so they also are great for an ornament exchange.  I grabbed this one for my exchange plus one for myself!

This has been my favorite winter scent for the second year in a row!

I try to add a little merry in our bedrooms too and, again, pardon the crap lighting.  This year I found these fun pillow cases and knew they would be a perfect addition! We are always feeling holly jolly this time of year when our head finally hits the pillow right?!!

These sweet lightweight flannel sheets also worked well with our bedroom decor and will work all winter long.  They are still on sale this week too!

Dutch agrees it was the perfect touch to turn the bedroom into a holiday haven!

All the throw pillows are also on sale and they evidently re my favorite thing to add this year. I’ve purchased ALOT of throw pillows.

I just couldn’t resist the plaid pillows under $15 though!!  They are perfect and the Merry lumbar pillow is adorable as well.  I was able to order online at the reduced price but pick them up the same day at my local Target.  So easy!  I seriously had a hard time not ordering this entire room!

Holiday Decor
If you haven’t checked out the woodwick candles from Twine & Cotton you so should.  This smell has been a favorite for the master bedroom as it is not too overwhelming and a little bit masculine.  I love it.
Holiday Decor
We also have a slim tree in the front room where the kids hang out.  I thought the reindeer pillow was too cute not to have it!
Holiday Decor
Due to the lighting I did not take pictures in the kids rooms either but hope to add some later if the sunshine cooperates!  I do not go overboard but do love to add a few little touches.  I grabbed a few things from the Target dollar spot and made this fun little banner for Dillon’s room and I was super proud of myself.  A few bottle brush trees here and there and he is feeling as merry as any 14 year old actually feels.
Holiday Decor

I also try to set up a fun hot chocolate bar for the kids to enjoy on cold nights.  They honestly eat up the marshmallows and those little chocolate filled delights in the first couple of days with no cocoa!

I can hardly wait to see everyone’s homes tour!  This time of year is just so magical.
