Christmas Decor 2014

·
Decorating for Christmas is my very favorite and I’m so excited to have these pictures this year so hopefully next year I will not have my typical memory lapse as to where everything goes!My front door holds a wreath I purchased the year my dad passed away ten years ago from the florist in my hometown.   I have added a few things to it over the years and have had to pull out the glue gun more than once but I still love it.
I love to add some Christmas spirit in the kitchen because I spend a lot of time here especially during this season when I bake for friends and family.  If you ever loved Southern Living then you are probably going to recognize many of my things.  I was once a consultant and let’s just say I reinvested pretty much everything I earned.
This memo board is fun and I usually use it for our countdown to Christmas.  Don’t miss the cute picture..soooo excited about Christmas!
Serious love for these plates!  I use them for Christmas, Valentines and Memorial Day/July 4th and I always am excited to pull them out.  The small plates have 4 different patterns…fun!
Nine years ago I had a girls weekend in Fredricksburg after Christmas and I bought these cute pot holders that are far too cute to actually use for anything other than decoration.  I don’t really have a great place to display them but this works!
I also have many items from Hallmark.  If you have never shopped the after Christmas sale at Hallmark you are missing out.  Always some fun stuff for cheap!
My kitchen table with my sad little placemats.  I loved these at one time but they have definitely been put to the test.  I had my eye on some replacements from World Market but I have only been able to find three.
Our house isn’t very big so I try to add a little pop in each room.  This is just a side table in our front room, formerly the formal dining room but now an extra living area.
This entry hall table was my Meme’s buffet and I have high hopes of having it refinished eventually but that has not happened.  For now I love decorating it as the holidays change.  I really love this table runner that actually matches our stockings.
These sweet caroling bears were painted by the mom of one of my dearest friends and it is always special to me to bring them out each year.
This Christmas tree also hangs in my entryway and will be filled (soon I hope!) with Christmas cards which is by far one of my very favorite things during this season.
Moving on to my living area.  I try to add the spirit without getting too carried away.  I noticed as I was taking these pictures that I evidently really like Santa!  I have tons of Santa decor everywhere.
In the background are my scrapbooks dating back to 1998 and holding all the Christmas cards I have received over the years.  So much fun looking back at everyone’s family and how things have grown and sometimes sad to see how things have changed.  Memories to be cherished.
My grandmother bought me this nativity set for Christmas a few years back so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I seriously missed out on the pillow I really wanted from World Market with a deer instead of the fox but I’m settling for the fox.  I’m thinking pillows are an easy addition and I’m going to look to grabbing a few more for this room and the front room to spice things up.

A little more random decor!

The mantel and the tree are always my very favorite!

I have several of these ornaments from Pier 1 purchased over the years or received as gifts and they are so beautiful in the lights.

Always so excited to pull out this little gem of my Bigs when they were little.  I have such great memories of this fun night at the mall seeing Santa!

My stocking hangers are from Southern Living and I love, love, love them!  They are the first I have ever found that are actually heavy enough to hold most of our stockings even when they have been stuffed.
Here is a view showing the lights a little better.  Our stockings are all exactly the same but to make each one unique when I took them to be monogrammed I used a different font for each of us.  You have no idea how much I adore these stockings! Quirky side note…I had a long list of names picked out when I was pregnant with Carly and finally decided on her name because it fit the pattern….my 1st and 3rd both have 6 letters and end with the letter N and the 2nd and 4th both have 5 letters and end with the letter Y.
I don’t know why but this little Santa just makes me happy!
I collected snow globes at one time and I still love displaying the ones I have been managed to keep in good shape.
This one has always been my kids favorite because it actually lights up and has motion.
Only one baby left at my house that is really into these books anymore but I just can’t help but pull them out.  Hopefully not too terribly many years in the future I will have some grandkids to read to.
No clue why the heck I bought this little dude but I just really like him too!
And Miss Priss had her tree up before I did anything!  She is so independent and this year she set it up and decorated it all herself!

Displaying some memories from Christmas’ past also puts a big smile on my face!
BJ the elf also returned on Monday and has been on his best behavior thus far!  If you have an elf visiting at your house, my friend Holly and I would love for you join the Instagram fun and use #unshelfyoelf2014 when posting pictures. It’s been so fun seeing all the fun elf’s everywhere are having!
Thanks for joining the tour!  I’m linking up with Andrea for her Come on In series!
Merry Christmas Y’all!
