Hello Yellow for 2018 + Ageless Style Linkup

Welcome to the April Ageless Style Linkup! Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots has chosen our theme this month to be yellow. She noted so many women shy away from spring color and we all just think that’s a crying shame! Come along and see how we all used yellow to style our outfits today.

My favorite color to pair with yellow is navy which may seem a little boring but it just feels right to me. I love how this open-front cardigan worked so well to complete a look perfect for the office. Cardigans are somewhat tricky for me and often the ones with buttons end up hanging weird so I was thrilled to find this open front cardigan on sale for just $12 a few weeks back. I purchased in a coral shade too.

Spring isn’t just about wearing fun shades of color for me but also about finding that perfect shoe to last me all summer long. These wedges are so perfect! While they are not a bargain purchase, I do not mind splurging on shoes if they are comfortable. Price per wear I will see every dollar out of these wedges! They are a rather tall wedge but so far I’ve had no discomfort walking or standing in them and there was no break in needed.

Yellow is such a joyful color! I tracked down the personality color of yellow and it was fun to read and definitely traits I can see yellow carrying. Being bold with color choices is sometimes a gamble but spring is the perfect time to try something new!

While it is in my color wheel, I do not have a ton of yellow in my closet! One reason yellow works so well in 2018 is it compliments the 2018 color of the year, lavender. I’m not going to lie, when I read this I was shocked as I have never thought to combine these two but after a quick search I found so much evidence on Pinterest to support this color combo! You can bet I’m going to try this combo out with my lilac jeans from last year just for fun.

I’ve worn this outfit to work twice since pulling it together and both times it made me feel confident and positive; two of my favorite things! I love how this outfit came together.
