Currently May

May y’all, holy smokes!  I feel like we are speeding down the highway at warp speed this year but I’m thrilled to see summer and the end of school around the bend.  Today I’m joining Anne and Carrie and sharing what’s currently going on around here!

Currently May

CELEBRATING|So much to celebrate in May!  Between Cinco de Mayo (I recommend these skinny margs), the end of dance season, Teacher Appreciation and the end of school our month is full of things to celebrate!  Of course let’s not forget Mother’s Day is just around the corner.  My friend Holly put together a round up of Teacher Appreciate ideas if you love pulling together fun little treats.  My Pinterest mom days have seemed to dwindle lately and instead I work with the teachers to choose a day to deliver lunch from Jason’s Deli.  I honestly still spend about the same but it totally works much better with my schedule these days and if I’m really having a crazy week I can even have it delivered!

CREATING | A fun style challenge to celebrate moms but also help me use the items in my closet for the month of May!  It really does help me take the stress out of getting dressed to have a few prompts and look ahead a day or two when I’m planning my week.  I’d love to have you join me on Instagram.

WEARING | My closet has finally been purged and organized for spring and summer and the weather has been perfect.  I’ve been wearing old favorites combined with a few new pieces.  This little black shift dress is such an easy piece to dress up for the office.  I grabbed some super old pieces of jewelry to add a pop of color and my favorite black heels to complete the look.  There have been so many mixed reviews about this dress but I followed the advice to size down (I actually grabbed a medium vs a large) and I get compliments each time I have worn it.

SHARING | My Mother’s Day wish list which now includes one of these adorable bags from Mexi Mexi shop!  My hairdresser just shared these with me yesterday and I instantly fell in love with all the options for these handwoven bag.

GOING | to be honest!  I am not really that mom who gets super sappy about my kids growing up and truly try to embrace it but for some reason this stage between 12-14 when they truly just grow and change so much both physically and in overall maturity always takes me aback just a tad.  Last night was dance recital and I just couldn’t quit staring at this girl and how grown up she looked!
