Currently - March + TBB Style Linkup

March already? One of these days I’m going to learn to appreciate the slow and easy days of January for sure as February was a complete blur! Today I’m joining Anne and Sarah and sharing what’s currently going on around here!

PLANNING | Spring Break is almost upon us and we really, really hope to sneak away with the besties if we can find a way to align our calendars. If that doesn’t work out we (and by we I mean my friend Holly) are still planning a girls getaway later this month. We have been lucky enough to convince our daughters a weekend away for an experience is way better than a birthday party! Last year we visited the Dallas area with a pit stop through Waco and a day trip to Paris, Texas and Holdenville, Oklahoma. Ahh…making dreams come true one birthday at a time!

SEEING | I attended the first of four sessions in the Leadership Texas Women program and I’m definitely seeing the world with fresh eyes. Seventy really, really smart women from all over the state gathered together for networking and an opportunity to expand our knowledge base outside of the fields we currently work in. We gathered in Fort Worth, heard from some amazing female leaders, visited a young girls leadership academy and also the Meals on Wheels facility. Making connections with others inspires me and hearing about women in leadership positions from a CEO to a County Judge to a director Meals on Wheels really helps remind me there are so many opportunities in the world to make a difference.

MAKING | I’m strategically planning which home projects I’m going to attempt to tackle over the next several weekends. If I can complete my closet (no I did not complete in the 28 days as planned last month) and complete a little organizing in the kitchen and the bathroom I’ll be super excited. Carly Jo’s room is just lacking a few finishing touches as well.

PRETENDING | A quick trip to West Palm Beach left me pretending I could take a permanent vacation with a pocket book big enough to own a house on the coast! We had such an amazing time and while we were there primarily to see Riley at spring training, we were also able to soak up some much needed sunshine and some R&R. It was all back to reality today as I walked in to find the cleaning fairy has still not made it to my house!

WEARING | Yesterday I showed off a look using a scarf I’ve had hidden away and on Tuesday I decided to pull another one from the bin. Isn’t it crazy how just changing up one simple accessory can freshen up a look? Mine is so old but I’m really crushing on the colors in this one! I’ve also been wearing my denim jacket alot recently and I’m thinking I may want to add a lighter denim such as this one to my closet. This grey sweater is so soft and has been perfect for the days it’s cool in the morning but heating up during the day. It is soft and cozy but not overly warm but I will say to size down. I’m wearing a small.
