What I’m Wearing – Create 28

If you weren’t here last Wednesday, I am using my closet in February to create 28 days of looks using pieces that have just been, literally, hanging around. This was so fun for me in 2021 so I decided to do it again before transitioning my closet to spring. Here are the looks for What I’m Wearing – Create 28 over the past week.

Last week I was on a pattern mixing roll and this may have ended up being my favorite! I’ve owned this jacket for several years and I absolutely love it but for some reason struggle to style it. Looking at my closet with a fresh eye, I decided to try these two pieces together and, y’all, I was CRAZY over it! It’s amazing how a well styled look can really change a day and make you feel really confident.

Okay…last Thursday was a doozy! We were in the ER at 4:00 am with Carly as she had a kidney stone. Once she was on pain meds and resting, I had to go into work for a couple of meetings and pulled myself together with this combo. Now I’m with the groundhog and wanting more winter so I can wear it one more time! Isn’t it just so fun? If you are shy about pattern mixing start small with an accessory like a belt or a great shoe or even just a bracelet.

A business casual look….but make it sassy! Last Friday I had to present at a budget workshop (I know, so exciting right?!) and because it was Friday it was business casual dress code. I love these pants and they have been one of my most worn purchases for sure along with these boots. And let’s not forget the Walmart blazer that my friend Kellyann at This Blondes Shopping Bag convinced me I had to have! For under $40, I’ve gotten every penny out of it since it arrived in the fall. My top is darling and part of a recent Stitch Fix that I haven’t had a chance to record a try on for but hopefully soon!

And speaking of blazers, I’m dying over these spring colors! I feel like a blazer really never goes out of style and is such an easy way to pull together a quick look for work, date night or a girls night out.

Sunday style is always super easy and with the weather in Texas starting cold but quickly rising to mid 70’s during the day, a layered look is perfect. A basic white tee, some of my fave jeans and a great cardigan is a winning combo. Years back a scarf was around my neck almost daily from fall to spring but I haven’t worn them nearly as much lately so I popped this one on for a little fun, .

Ahhh….Valentines day! I took a basic black sweater dress but glammed it up just a tad with a great velvet blazer. This belt really adds the illusion of a tiny waist and I’m kind of here for it! Even though I bought this blazer for the Christmas holidays, I think it works for Valentines too!

My work outfits have been some of my favorites lately. It helps that I’ve been working on feeding my body food it functions well with and I’ve lost enough bloat to fit all my slacks again! All these pieces are ones I love but I had never combined them until yesterday. I’m totally in love with this combo!

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite out of these looks! This week I loved all of the pieces I pulled together and felt comfortable and confident in all of them. Do you have a favorite?
