Wakeup to Makeup - A Simple Daytime Look

Last weekend I headed down to my hometown to visit my family and while I was there decided to play dress up with my sister-in-law who happens to be a Younique rep. You will have to forgive the quality of these pictures as I only had my iPhone available! As always with my posts you might have to bring along just a little imagination or your blinders whichever you choose.

Here I am in all my naked face glory drinking coffee on the back porch at my moms house. I gave her this mug for her birthday last year because, well, she’s crazy! But the apple did not fall from the tree in this case and thankfully I’ve taken some of my own advice to a younger me and learned to laugh at myself.

So I first tried Younique about two years ago when Jonica first became a rep and at that time the fiber mascara was all the rage. I absolutely loved it but quickly found I’m one of a very small percentage of people allergic to the fibers. Boo! I had no idea how many other products she had in her arsenal until recently!

I grabbed this special in July when I was out of my regular foundation. The primer goes on so silky smooth and I love that I can use one for both my eyelids and my face. The concealer I feel is going to last forever because a little goes a really long way. I do like the mineral foundation but am thinking for my dry skin I’m going to switch it up when this is gone.

I also ordered the Moonstruck eye shadow palette 2 and it is mostly gray tones. While I do love the colors, this Moonstruck palette 1 in brown tones is so much more an every day shadow. I love, love, love it and will definitely be adding. What else did I try? Absolutely loved the bronzer and thanks to Jonica I now know how to actually use it! The lip color in Affluent was a beautiful shade and, while it is not shown here, the eyebrow pencil was also a sure favorite.

Please also note I do not have dandruff but instead am peeling after sunburning my scalp just a bit on our Port A getaway! I am loving all the colors she had me try and can’t wait to start adding a few new items to the makeup drawer. I’ve been using Urban Decay eye shadow palettes for several years and I do think these palettes are the same quality shadow.
