The Queen’s Chronicles

·
Maybe it is because the days are longer but the weeks have seemed to be taking just a tad longer to complete lately and I’m feeling okay about that!  We still seem to be packing it in but, hey, you only live once right?  Here is a little look at our week.
It is never a good sign when the grocery store is part of the Monday to do list. After a long weekend of baseball our pantry was bare so off to HEB I went. Amongst some great produce and steaks to grill was also a six pack of wine because I like to save that extra 10% off of course.
Keith is the grillmaster and he cooked up enough steak and shrimp to last for both our lunch and dinner over several days.
Bacon wrapped shrimp, plain grilled shrimp and steaks grilled to perfection along with roasted potatoes, broccoli and brussel sprouts.  I used the veggies and shrimp and added to some spring mix with an avocado for my lunches and it was so yummy.
I was proud to make it to not one but two workouts on Tuesday with my fave trainer.  Good thing I took a picture because that ended up being my only day at the gym the entire week!  I really do need my workouts but sometimes life just happens and keeping my sanity will always come first.
New picture is up on the Lancaster Jethawks site and Riley logged his first save of the season on Wednesday night.   I hate being so far away and in a different time zone.  So far I have not stayed up late enough to catch a game.
Dinner date with #1 and we had so much fun chit chatting.  Jordan has a fun little giggle she does and covers her mouth and it is just precious to me.  I love when I can make her do that.  She is a fun girl and we need a girls weekend soon I feel sure!  Of course that is if I can get on her calendar.  She headed to Miami earlier this month and will be off to Napa later this week!!  The life of a 25 year old gal….gotta love it!
Carly Jo has been waiting all year for a Golden Gator award!  Each class awards two students each six weeks based on the qualities Gracious-Accountable-Trustworthy-Outstanding Effort-Responsible. As her teacher read the comments from both her point of view and some of the classmates, the word quiet came up several times.  This is the very last word I’d ever use to describe my girl!  However, she is very much a rule follower so I totally get it.
Thursday night girls night with these ladies!  Yes that is also Carly ‘s 4th grade teacher who also taught Dillon.  I just knew we had to have her again because she is that amazing.  The four of us decided to be wild and train together for the BCS Half Marathon in 2014 and I think we would all agree running is so much more fun with friends.
Friday afternoon Carly’s sitter was gone so she had to come to the office with me after school.  I have a stand up desk so I often take off my heels and of course she was quick to put them on.  I just love having her add some new artwork to my dry erase board!
Friday was also my daddy’s birthday and he would have been 70 this year.  This picture from my 1st wedding popped up on my timehop and it made me smile.  His hugs were the best and I loved being his baby girl.
This one….sending me these pitiful snapchats from the locker room so far away. Doesn’t that just make you want to hop a plane to Cali?!!
Speaking of pitiful.  I am so over this little guy getting into our trash.  I literally stepped outside long enough to retrieve a few items from my car and he had trash strung out all over the kitchen.  Being in the doghouse means being locked outside and he was not impressed.
We headed to a crawfish boil Keith’s cousin hosted for the 3rd year in a row.  It was my first this season and I made sure to eat my share.
I was so excited to see these two working on some passing skills.  This girl makes me crazy because she has the abilities to be an athlete but absolutely refuses.
I watched Dillon and Keith all day and y’all I think Dillon is a hair taller than Keith now.  So crazy!

Sunday Carly & I were up bright and early headed to my hometown to attend my niece’s first communion.

I am not Catholic and this was the first time I have actually been to a first communion.  She did so good.

We are just so happy Morgan has excepted Jesus into her heart.  The priest really gave a terrific sermon (is that even what it is called in the Catholic church??) and his lesson was God is calling all of us.  All we have to do is answer. So true!
So proud of my brother and his little family.  My nephew will be graduating from college in two weeks!

Not quite sure what the heck I’m doing here but here I am with the special girl!

And of course Nana had to get in on the action!

My sister-in-law’s fern is growing crazy and is the most perfect shade of green.  I decided I had to have my OOTD with it in the background.  I’m loving this lightweight denim and lace jacket that has the slightest hint of a peplum bottom.  I especially love it layered over this J. Crew Factory tank.  My friends at Burlap and Pearls hooked me up.

Back to College Station and some afternoon grocery shopping with this guy.  I may have made him take me to Target and Old Navy for returns first.

I so love that Keith doesn’t mind taking care dinner details!  He is much better at chopping and slicing than I am.

We buy the majority of our meat from Sam’s and then sort it into smaller portions.  Hopefully we stocked up enough to not have to head back until mid May.

All is forgiven and this pup and I hung out on the backporch watching a rain storm this evening.
Carly joined us and brought this fun (but intense) game of ultimate tic-tac-toe.  Her math specialist at school shared this with her and it is challenging but fun once you get the hang of it.  You can find it here if you are a tic tac toe family!
The kids room is all done and put back together but this master shower over haul begins Monday morning!  I cannot even tell you how stoked I am to have this torn out!!
That’s it for us!  Hope you all have a super week.
