The Queen’s Chronicles

·
It was really a great week with a surprise visit from my mom and some unplanned good times!
First off, my mom and I were on our way home from Target on Tuesday when we noticed this guy on my hood.  We both started (kinda) freaking out and I drove a little slower until I could turn off.  I’m sure this guy walking his dog thought I was nuts hopping all around my car with a piece of paper trying to get this sucker to safety in the grass!
I had an all day training class where I did learn some valuable tools for pulling data (and making it pretty) from our data warehouse.  Of course I was also trying to learn how to reply to Laura’s Snapchats!!
Wednesday was crazy! After being in training all day I was rushing over to a meeting for a foodbank subcommittee and took the opportunity to pluck my eyebrows at the stoplights.  If you have never tried plucking  your eyebrows in the car I’m telling you it’s the best….lighting is perfect!  Then it was home for 30 minutes before jumping onto a webcast for an hour.
Keith’s dad made this beautiful wood stand for the deer Riley shot (his first) this year.  I sent him a picture and he then proceeded to have me take it 1001 times until I got just the right angle and background to make him happy.  The joys of living 1500 miles away.
Thursday I joined this crew and some other A&M staff for a little behind the scenes fun at SBISA dining hall on campus.  We put together a cauliflower pizza crust and a turkey meatloaf as they shared tips for healthier recipes.  This crew is so fun and I’m thinking they may separate at future events!

I shared this comparison picture this week of my face last June and this March.  I’ve been using the Reverse Regimen from Rodan & Fields and it has definitely improved my skin tone.  Unfortunately I am allergic to the higher powered dark spot reducer and I think I’ve taken this about as far as I can but I’m happy with the results.  If you want to chat about products let me know!  I’ve been a consultant for awhile but I’m really weird about pushing product until I’ve used and seen success!

My Friday was made when I got to meet Holly for lunch and it was a bonus to have a photographer, her baby girl Hope, along for the visit.

Of course it’s always a good Friday when I get home to this face and packages on the front porch!  Sadly the pink jeans I ordered from the Gap are cute as can be….just NOT on me.

Saturday Dutch and I took care of some necessary things like oil changes and bank deposits and then we headed to Franklin for some baseball.

Dutch was in heaven with all the kids around to play with him!  This ballpark is in the middle of the country but has a great nature trail and pond so I was able to take him on a great walk off the leash. He’s such a good boy!

so I already mentioned I love the Reverse regimen but Sunday morning I decided to use the Rodan & Fields Sunless Tanner for a little color before I put on my shorts.  It is a good color, not orange, and I love that there is no smell.  I’ve used it several times but never applied more than one coat.  It gives me enough color to feel confident showing off my legs.  Definitely check it out here if you are looking for a reasonably priced sunless tanner.

Dutch and I hit up the nature trails for the second day and only ran into one snake….eek…and one deer.  I decided Keith will definitely be accompanying me the next time!!  #idontdosnakes

Paw (Keith’s dad) lives just a few miles from the ballpark so we were excited to have him with us for the weekend.  Dutch was especially happy as I’m pretty sure Paw was sharing his beef snack sticks!

And this kid….it was up and down for him this weekend at the plate but he was solid at 3rd base. Several really great heads up plays!  He closed out the last game tonight and this age is just such a struggle sometimes.  He has a really tough slider but he is still struggling a little to get his other pitches across for strikes.

Still….I just love seeing him work hard and work through even when it is not coming easy.

 He never gives up!

I hope he continues to trust the struggle and realizes it is all part of the process.

And y’all….he looks SO big!!  This babe is on his way to becoming a little man and I just was not ready!

Ending the week honoring this handsome cat for National Sibling Day. I seriously love this guy with every inch of my heart.  He has walked with me through the darkest hours of my life and never once did he judge.  He always showed me love and understanding and acceptance.  I don’t know that anyone really understands me as well as he does because he knows where I came from.  I really don’t know what I’d do without him.  He’s a rock for me and, plus, he’s pretty damn hilarious.  That witty gene I always talk about wanting?  Well he got it!

So it was a great weekend enjoying beautiful weather and relaxing at the ballpark but for the second weekend in a row I did not make it to the grocery store.  We are in desperate need of some meal planning!  I did get taxes filed for me, my mom, and turned in the final piece of Riley’s to the tax accountant so the entire weekend was not lost.  Our shower remodel starts Monday and I’m so exicted but a little anxious about the mess my house will be in for the next week or so.

Wishing you all a super week!
