The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 53

Happy New Year!
Here we are, another year behind us and all the possibilities in a new year before us!  Before I get ahead of myself I need to wrap up 2015.  Week 53 proved to be the perfect ending to the year!  Let’s see how it played out.

This girl lost her glasses so while I was visiting we headed to pick out some new frames.  She is a hot mess I tell ya.

Beautifully painted sky for our drive home Monday evening.  No one can paint it like God can!

Reunited with Bubby and oh these two are peas in a pod.  They really make me laugh and she so looks up to him.

This is the way I like to start my day….lazy in pjs with a good book and coffee.  Loving my new cup Jordan bought me for Christmas!

Little bit and I headed out for some furniture shopping and this is terrible quality but I had to show off her little outfit she pulled together all by herself.

We had a little date night at Santa’s Wonderland and it was the best time!

I made crockpot chicken (salsa, taco seasoning & chicken broth) and grabbed some lettuce, cilantro, avocado & tomatoes to make it an easy dinner.

Again….totally should have drug out my big camera but we were so hungry!  I made a quick trip to San Antonio to celebrate my bestie’s birthday.  Sadly we were also there to support a dear friend who lost her dad on Christmas day.  We stayed at Eilan hotel the first night and it was beautiful and the service was amazing!

Of course we scored some margaritas at a little restaurant, Tiagos, within the shuttle drop off distance.  Too bad the Aggies weren’t able to score just one more touchdown!!

Meanwhile Dillon and his Aunt Amy (sporting her brand new blardigan) were in Nashville watching the game up close!  I love that she gives my kids adventures!

The birthday girl!  I have to say having a friend with a birthday on NYE is tops!

When we made it to our next stop, the JW Marriott in San Antonio, it was all hands on deck for a busy check in!

The view once we made it to our room was super.

We grabbed some party snacks while we waited on our guys to meet us!  Aren’t we so fancy?!

So fun ringing in the new year with this crew!

Keith & I got back to our room and watched the entire city light up with fireworks!

We ventured out and being the creatures of habit we are we headed directly back to Tiagos for appetizers and a beer.

We couldn’t help but take this picture with the Chipmunks to show our littles!  No Chipmunks movie for us…we opted for Daddy’s Home.  I love Will Ferrell & Marky Mark so I thought it was hilarious but did think the language was a little stronger than expected based on reviews.

If you follow me on Instagram then sorry for the repeat….it was so nice starting the year with a relaxing few days away with this guy!  Marriage isn’t easy but every year parts seem simpler.  Maybe it’s knowing we are committed to seeing it through or maybe we have become more patient or maybe we have learned to communicate just a little bit better.  Whatever it is I’m glad I get to be on the same team with this guy through all the ups and downs life may throw our way!

Back to the real world!  The Christmas decor is all put away and I’m finally making an attempt to tackle this girls room.  So far I have carried away a bag of trash and have one bag ready to donate.  We haven’t even touched the closet!!

After dinner Dillon & Carly Jo decided they wanted to decorate the gingerbread house and since it’s been in the box for two years already I decided what the heck!  Everyone I’m sure is aware by now but putting the house together with a glue gun first is definitely the way to go!

Such teamwork…..I love when they work together!

Happiness all around!

My kids actually do not go back to school until Tuesday and I took the day off tomorrow so we have one more day to get things in order around here.  Looking forward to a good productive day and a great start to 2016!
