The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 33 & 34

·
The past two weeks have been a blur as we worked to get ready for the first day back to school.  Here’s a little of what our last two weeks of summer have looked like.
Carly was gone all of week 33 and well, maybe life is just a little slower when our little ball of fire is missing!  That and the fact that my phone had still not been replaced equals not a lot of pictures!  The boys and I had a date night at Outback on Wednesday and the rest of the week was really slow.
On Friday things actually cooled off a bit and it was a perfect time to browse the new PB catalog!  #allthepumpkins
Saturday morning I had to run a few errands before leaving town and of course going to the bank is Dutch’s favorite part.  So serious….you gotta keep an eye on those tellers and make sure they send out the treat!
I headed to my hometown and after having lunch with my mom I took my Mamaw for some retail therapy.  I blame my shopping addiction on this girl…she seriously loves going shopping!
And then we picked up these two sillies and my mom and headed to DQ for a Saturday afternoon blizzard.
I was able to reunite with a few of my good friends for dinner.  It’s been years and it was so fun to have a chance to see them in person!
Back to the casa on Sunday and this little miss was excited to help me make a breakfast casserole for the teacher breakfast on Monday.  I love that she loves being in the kitchen with me!!  We made this casserole from Mix and Match Mama.
I also completed the Seamless bible study with these ladies!  So grateful to Katy and Cindy for leading us.  This is such a great study and I would totally recommend it for anyone wanting to become stronger in their faith and really dive into the story the bible tells.
My friend Holly organizes volunteer days during the summer that really help the kids be involved in giving back to our local food bank.  I’m always so grateful she will swing by and grab my kids to join the fun.  Tuesday she picked them up, fed them lunch and let them come over for a play date.  Happiness all around!
Ahh….date night!  I hope to continue making this a priority even after school starts and things get a little crazy.
I took off Thursday and took these sillies to the movies!  Don’t worry…we may look like a train wreck but I promise they went to see Inside Out.  #payattentionphotographer
We headed to Carly’s school for meet the teacher at 6:30….the alarm on my phone beeped at 5:30 and I really just thought I set it early.  We were fashionably late and thankfully she didn’t mind especially when we arrived and found out all our dreams had come true and Mrs. Cosser would be her 4th grade teacher!!  She was also Dillon’s teacher and my running partner last fall so I am stoked.  Of course the girls had to stop for a photo op in the 4th grade pod.
Dillon left on Friday with his friend Brian for a weekend at the lake.  #roughlife They went tubing and to a Ducks Unlimited banquet (heaven for Dillon)!
We somehow had a big summer fail but not seeing these two cuties the entire time!  We grabbed them Friday afternoon for a quick visit to our local Spoons to enjoy some frozen yogurt and support the school for the first spirit night!
Carly and I decided to try our hand at making a double layer cake on Friday night!  Success….we need some more practice but I think we may be on to something fun we can do together.

Saturday night we had game night!  We played Farkle first and it took a bit for Carly to “get” it.  She is so much like her momma.  She was so frustrated with us and just kept saying “okay but I still have no idea what you are saying”.  Haha

Once she caught on she was rolling the dice like she owned them!

We switched to sorry and she ended up being the big winner!

I’m not sure….do you think she was enjoying the only child status for the weekend?!!

And this popped up on my time hop so we had to do a little comparison.  Oh our little Dutch Buddy was so precious!!  We still love that little face so much and Carly has been a really good momma to Dutch.

Saturday after church we had lunch and then hit the grocery store and I spent the rest of the day prepping food for the kids lunches, my lunch and dinners for the week.  I always try to start the school year with a great schedule and I’m hoping I can keep it up a little longer this year!  Somehow life always seems to step in and take over.  I finally sat down long enough to watch my hubby grilling up an amazing dinner.

Told ya…I could eat steak every day!

We actually had a big spat before church this morning and I really don’t remember now what it was all about.  So glad we always see fit to forgive each other and move forward.  I feel like every year we get just a little better at this!

And thanks to my sister in law and her mad cricut skills I have a fun little gift for Carly’s teacher in the morning!

Here’s to a great week!  I’m actually excited to be back on a schedule and looking forward to the coming weekend when we are headed back to the coast for a last little summer fling!

Have a great week!
