The Queen’s Chronicles Week 2

·

Our first week back to school and work after the holiday was a long one!  I had such a great holiday with my Bigs home so much so this week was really quiet.  By Wednesday night my kids were done and by Thursday I wasn’t far behind.  I think the dreary weather has definitely contributed to the blah in our week.

Day #5 – I made beef stew and we shared our last dinner before the college boy returned to school.  I’m so proud to see my kids become independent but goodness I still miss having them home!  You will note Dillon, my picky eater, was NOT joining us and instead eating cheese and crackers and watching some hunting show more than likely.  Grrrr
Day #6 – Keith and I had our first date night of the year.  We dined at Veritas and I enjoyed the crab cakes while Keith chose a steak and grilled veggies.  It was a great night and we had some much needed discussion and made some decisions we had been needing to get too.
Day #7 – It was my night “off” as I blogged about here.  It was 2 hours of quality time with myself and I really felt like the rest of the week I was able to be present in all other areas since I knew I had this time to dedicate to some personal time.
Day #8 – It is freezing outside but my littles were both asking for a milkshake and I complied.  I mean who could say no to those faces!
Day #9 – Friday night at home and Dillon had been “missing” for a bit.  I went to check on him and he was in his room settled in bed listening to music and looking through all of his scrapbooks.  Be still my heart!  He is going to be turning 13 this coming week and he has changed so much this past few months.  It was so fun to just take some time out to look at pictures and remember some special times.  For some reason earlier that day something made me remember he always added a T in front of words beginning with an A.  I guess we went to “Tacademy” a lot because I so remember him saying that all..the..time.
Day #10 – Saturday the boys were up before dawn, bundled up and excited to head to Paw’s house for some duck hunting.  It was a successful day and I assume we (meaning they) will be having duck fingers tomorrow night!
Hope you all had a great weekend!  Surely this week will be a little smoother and we will be back on track.
