The Queen’s Chronicles – Summer Wrapup

Welcome to the Queen’s Chronicles were I share a little of life lately, mostly in screenshots of insta-stories or shots snapped on my phone.  The quality may be sketchy but the memories are worth capturing!  I already the first leg of our August vacation to Long Beach and the day trip to Sequoia National Forest so today I’m wrapping up August with the rest of our summer adventures.

I already the first leg of our August vacation to Long Beach and the day trip to Sequoia National Forest so today I’m wrapping up August with the rest of our summer adventures.

Riley has been in Fresno since early July so he was super excited to see some familiar faces!  I used Airbnb for the first time and rented the cutest little house so he was able to come and stay with us.  It was nice to have some togetherness with these three.

Always, ALWAYS giving me grief in pictures!  I can’t tell you how many times we have to retake family pictures because he’s doing something ridiculous (or inappropriate).

Every night we headed to the ballpark and were lucky enough to see him pitch on two occasions.  This was the first chance we had to see him pitch this year.  It’s not easy being so far away!

Jordan and I headed out to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo one afternoon.  We decided to walk the 1.7 miles after having some mimosas and man, it’s hot in Fresno!  Feeding giraffes was by far our favorite in case you can’t tell!  Did you know the giraffes only use the lettuce for hydration and not actually their food?  This one was all about it and you can tell from the wrinkles she doesn’t miss many meals either.

One of my social media turned real life friends lives nearby and made the trip over for one of the games.  Although we have met in person once before when Kim came to Texas, it was fun to catch up face to face.  She has a pretty incredible weight loss journey so if you are needing a little inspiration you can check her feed out here.

Let me just take this moment to document it was this day Carly Jo called to let me know the electricity had gone out at our house and not come back on.  Imagine my shock and surprise when I called the city and found out it had been turned off for non-payment!  Y’all, our credit card expired in June and I never thought to update.  Things had been so crazy busy I also had not noticed the small print on the last bill I received noting it would be turned off.  Yikes!  Thankfully it was turned back on quickly and thankfully it happened after she and Keith had returned hone and not when we were all gone.
Back to School 2018 #schooldays

Back to Texas and it was back to school for these two!  There is no tired like first week of school tired is there?  Thankfully they have Labor Day to rest up an extra day.

I treated these two to ice cream to celebrate surviving the first week!

And I headed to a concert with this one.

And poor Dutch….he was definitely wondering where the heck everyone had gone!

Oh, did I mention I celebrated my 4 year blogiversary?  Well I bought this cupcake for a prop so of course I had to eat it!  Note..this is the proper way to devour a cupcake!  Perfect mix of icing and cake in every bite.  If you haven’t yet, head over to the blogiversary post and leave a comment for a chance to win a little something!

The boys headed out to dove hunt early Saturday morning and this one talked me into brunch.  Can’t say I’m sad about it because it was all kinds of amazing. This is exactly why I don’t order things like this….zero self control!  I try to convince myself I don’t usually eat biscuits because I don’t really like them and that is for sure a TOTAL LIE!  I legit think these were the best biscuits I’ve ever eaten.

You may have seen this floating around the internet…..totally true!  I am in a bit of a hormonal flux at the moment and just not myself at all.  I’m positive I’ve felt this way for the past week.

Sunday afternoon I headed to a little photography workshop!  I needed a refresher and really need to up my game a bit.  While I already shoot in manual, I learned a couple of other tips I hope take my pictures up a notch.  Next step, learning lightroom.

And I came home to find my man grilling up the weekend haul.  I would have never tried bacon wrapped dove except once I ate it thinking it was a bacon wrapped shrimp.  They are pretty tasty and he cooked a porkloin and sausage so momma is off kitchen duty Monday night too!

August was full of many hot days, lots of activities and some items crossed off my list.  I’m hoping, however, September will slow down and cool down just a bit.

Wishing you all a super week!
