The Queen’s Chronicles – Snow Day

Snow Day

The forecast popped up on Friday indicating the possiblity of snow on Sunday but around here we don’t make any bets on a forecast like that. As the weekend progressed, the forecast changed to 100% chance of snow adn we were still trying not to get too excited. But let me tell you, about 1pm on Sunday when the snow started falling it was hard to not feel a little excitement about a possible snow day!

In all my time living here I’ve never seen it snow quite so hard with such big flakes for quite so long. While we saw a 1/2 inch more snow in December 2017, it occurred at night. It was simply beautiful to spend our entire afternoon watching the snow cover our neighborhood.

We have tried to keep up with the tradition of Sunday suppers so I was excited the kids were all able to make it for stew (I used this recipe) and cornbread. It was such a sweet day and one I will treasurer. Another chance to slow down and spend the day with this crew without feeling the rush of the outside world. I’ll take as many of these as I can get!

I just can’t get enough of this little bits sweet little face! Her expressions are just so cute and I can’t even imagine the things she is going to say some day when she starts talking! And can we talk about this little coat? I mean, such a stylish girl already.

Baseball season is on the horizon which means it will take lots more effort for us all to be together. I’m going to treasure the memories of this sweet snow day!
