The Queen’s Chronicles – Ready, Set, Go!

The calendar turned to November 1st and I feel like a girl at the starting line of a race! Ready, set go is definitely how November began for us. Using this space as a bit of a family scrapbook is one of my favorites so today I’m wrapping up our first week of November because it was FULL.

Dillon plans to attend Rice University next fall and Keith escorted him to his official visit while I was in Austin on a girls weekend. I was so proud of him for taking pictures!

Baseball recruiting can be a bit of a wild ride and Rice had been nowhere on the radar last fall. The prayer I have learned to pray for these boys is for God to open the doors meant to be open and close those meant to be closed. Our visit with Rice just felt so “right” last November and when this new coach closed our time with him by letting us know Jesus is a big part of his life I felt like God was like “here’s your sign!”. It took Dillon about 2 days to decide Rice was where he wanted to commit.

So next fall this will be his new crew! And I’m kind of in love with this new ballpark view and the fact that it’s close enough to home we will be able to see lots of games.

Since I was away, Carly Jo was forced to head to the deer stand early Sunday morning. She sent me this picture of her and Keith and it just made my heart swell. I love a daddy/daughter bond and these two are so precious together.

Not 10 minutes later I received a text from her; I did it, I did it, I did it, I got him, I got him, I got him! I could not believe my girl got her a deer.

Seriously not sure who was most excited her or her daddy! I cracked up when she captioned her post on instagram; sorry to all the vegetarians. 🙂

Can’t wait to wrap up my girls trip for you later this week!! We had so much fun on our 2nd annual blogging besties trip.

When I arrived back home I found our front door like this. Of course not one person admitted to leaving out the front door (which we rarely do) but I sure am glad the wind didn’t blow it open becuase if my dog had gotten out someone would have been in super big trouble!!

Wednesday I headed to the Texas Renaissance Festival with Carly and her classmates. This field trip is one of my favorites so I was really excited to be able to go. It’s a much more family friendly environment on school days for sure!

Hmm….upon arriving home on Thursday we found the front door like this. I mean, if you are keeping score this is two days my house was definitely the best place for a burglar to be!! Dillon had woken me up looking for his keys that morning and even though “I don’t ever use the front door” was spoken a few days before I think we have reason to believe that’s not true! I can’t make this stuff up y’all!

Thursday night I co-hosted a Beauty Counter Pop-up with my BC team at Threads Boutique. It was so fun sharing my new love for better beauty with a few friends while also helping them choose some new threads! My top almost sold out but there are a few left you can find here. Use QUEEN15 for a little discount.

Hopefully our very last trip to the orthodontist! As we pulled up to have her retainer checked becuase it wasn’t fitting well, she also let me know she lost the bottom one. Mercy…it’s been two weeks!!

Friday night we headed to Songfest 2019 which is presented by the Chi Omegas at Texas A&M. Y’all, these sororities and fraternities put on an amazing show!! And raised lots of money I’m sure for many philanthropies in our area.

Carly and I are members of the National Charity League which pulls moms and daughters together to serve the community. Her group attends one cultural event each year and Songest was a fun one! If you have a NCL in your area it’s a fun way to get involved in the community while also teaching the girls some leadership skills.

Saturday was picture perfect and I needed to straighten up our house but just could not stay inside! Carly and I headed out for lunch and some strolling around town.

And these two were in Vegas for a wedding and sent me this picture!

Sunday afternoon I was off again to Fort Worth for work. Try is a sweet reader who I have “known” online for a bit and I decided to take a chance to see if she would like to meet for dinner. We had such a sweet time getting to know each other “in real life” and I feel certain we both left feeling filled up.

See what I mean? One week was alot to start November and I’m kind of hoepful the entire month isn’t the same!!

A quick note on the Beauty Counter special for November. The resurfacing peel is one of the first products I tried and it continues to receive praise. In November it is the free gift when you sign up for a new Band of Beauty member program. If you have been considering BC, this is a great time to jump in and receive this product free! I’d love to help you find your perfect skincare regimen! I will also be sharing a little more about the holiday line later this week…great gift ideas!
