The Queen’s Chronicles – Hot Mess Weekending

Good morning and happy Monday! It’s been so long since I’ve posted a random weekending post. We have had a very full month and, honestly, I have been awful at taking pictures!! This weekend was a bit of a hot mess but my handsome hubby came to the rescue and I wanted to be sure to document.

Friday was AH-mazing! Last May the girl who had been cleaning my house graduated from college and began a new job. I foolishly believed the kids and I could find a way to keep up with the chores and save some money. Let’s just say I threw in the towel and a new housekeeper started on Friday. Y’all….she was at my house from 8-3 for the first cleaning. I’m slightly embarrassed it was so bad but so, so thrilled to have a clean house!

With no housework today, I had plenty of time to celebrate National Margarita day! Keith and I had a quick date with our besties to kick off the weekend and were home watching tv by 7:00.

Saturday morning I logged a workout and the sun was shining! I actually made it to the gym 3 times and took one 3 mile walk this past week which was a huge improvement since I’ve basically only made it to the gym a total of 7 times now the entire year!!

We headed to watch Dillon’s high school team play a game about 30 miles away. They won a double header!

Then I quickly packed up and Carly Jo and I headed off to Waxahachie for a dance competition. This girl was chatty and I loved it! We talked the entire way and had a good laugh when I got pulled over for doing 51 in a 35 on an exit ramp. So happy to report I only received a warning (insert praise hands).

The hot mess express arrived at the hotel about 6:30 on Saturday and the wheels just started falling off. Y’all! TMI but I failed to bring myself any undergarments…no panties and no bra other than the sports bra I was wearing! Nothing a quick trip to Target won’t solve!

We had some super big laughs over all this plus the fact the a/c in our room sounded like it contained a whining two year old or a cat! It was crazy and thankfully stopped at some point or we either got distracted by our next crisis. At 9:30pm Carly realized she didn’t bring her backpack. Yeah…the backpack containing her dance shoes!

Daddy saves the day! He arrived at 6:50 am to deliver his baby girl her shoes (and his baby momma a bra!). We watched her dance and then he headed back home and completed all our laundry!

Carly’s team received platinum and high gold for the 2 dances they performed and one dance also placed 2nd overall in their category.

We then rushed back to College Station to host a girls meeting for the National Charity League Carly participates in. Dad once again saved the day by having waters iced down and all the ingredients for sundaes on Sunday ready to got!

This weekend was definitely a great reminder that we are given so much good every day! Even when unexpected things happen and we have to do things that are not necessarily fun we can almost always find at least one thing to be grateful for! This lightweight sweatshirt has been on repeat for me. Heads up it does run small and is a little short so I did size up to a large.

The week ahead looks to be pretty darn busy but starting with all the laundry done and a clean house even makes Monday a little more happy! Hope you all have a super week!
