Stitch Fix May Style #stitchfix #style

Stitch Fix is a fun option for me to try once every few months to find pieces I might not otherwise even try on and today I’m sharing my Stitch Fix May Style.  Many times I receive items I won’t see just anywhere and I love having a piece no one else is wearing now and again.  I don’t know about you but some brands just fit my body better than others so I love trying new brands I may have never heard of before.

So if you have never used Stitch Fix, this service matches your style profile with a stylist, you choose your delivery date and for a $20 styling fee a box with 5 items arrives at your doorstep.  The style profile is critical!  And if you see someone receiving fixes you love, don’t hesitate to ask for the name of their stylist and request for yourself on your next fix.  YES…you can do that!  I had no clue but it really did change the joy arriving in my fix!

In order for me to keep and item it must 1) Fit well (obviously) and 2)Work well with items already in my closet.  If I’m going to spend a little more on these pieces I need them to be versatile and work for the office, date night, girls night out, etc. The best part is returning the items I don’t want is super easy with the prepaid shipping bag.

The Stitch Fix app now allows me to preview the items I’m receiving and I go back and forth on whether I want to know or be surprised when the box arrives.  Regardless, I love I can now provide screenshots for my readers so you can see more details about the item as well as the cost.  You do have an opportunity to choose the price range for items in your fix while creating your profile as well as give some feedback on the cost during the checkout/return process.

Let’s take a look and see what I loved, what I kept and why!

Stitch Fix Maxi #stitchfix

The first item out of the box was this adorable maxi.  At first I wasn’t super stoked because the color seemed boring but the fabric more than made up for it.  The cut was super flattering and the material was thick and had a slight stretch to it. Unfortunately this came in a large and when I searched to exchange for a medium it was not available.

I love how easy this piece could be dressed with simple sandals and accessories but would also work for the office with a cute jacket and wedges.  In the end it was RETURNED but it was a hard decision!

Stitch Fix Athletic Shorts

Item number two and I have to say I didn’t have high hopes.  I definitely needed a new pair of athletic shorts for the summer and black is always my favorite color but I struggle finding a pair to not ride up in between my chubby legs (no thigh gap here!).  When I saw they were 5″ length I was a little more excited.  The waist band is super soft and comfortable and stays in place well which was a definite plus.   While I really don’t love spending this much on athletic shorts, the fit sold me and I will tell you I have already gotten my moneys worth.  I wear these shorts at least 4 times a week for my nightly walks and they are perfect.  These were KEEPERS.Stitch Fix May - Workout Gear

I know I’ve shared here, but these shoes have me wanting to dress athleisure even when I’m not headed for a workout.  They are so comfortable and lightweight.  I’m now watching like a hawk hoping to find a pair marked down so I can grab a backup!

Stitch Fix Athletic Tank #stitchfix

Super cute workout tank with an adorable cutout in the back.  I loved every single thing about this top except the color.  I happen to love the color….alot….because I already have probably 3 other workout tops in this color.  While I don’t mind spending a little more on workout bottoms, I do try to keep the tops on the cheaper side so the price was also a deterrent for this piece.  Ultimately I RETURNED.Stitch Fix May - Workout Gear

Stitch Fix Cold Shoulder Top #stitchfix

I was super duper excited when I pulled this top out of the box!  The fabric was butter soft, I love the color and the details.  It is an easy going top which would work equally well dressed up or down.  Unfortunately it was too big and also I was not super thrilled with the idea of having to wear a strapless bra.  This top was RETURNED but seeing it in these pictures has me second guessing myself!  I’m kind of wishing I had exchanged for a medium!  Stitch Fix May - Cold Shoulder

Stitch Fix Ruffle Blouse #stitchfix

If I look super awkward in this picture it is because this top was super awkward on me!  The color was spot on and already had me designing outfits around it but once I put it on I was quickly disappointed.  I’ve shared before ruffles are very tricky for me and placement is everything.  These ruffles were all in the wrong place plus the top was way too big for me. This one was a super easy decision to RETURN.  It is an absolutely gorgeous top but just did not work for me!  Stitch Fix May - Pink Ruffled Top

Similar Top | Dressy Black Shorts | Leopard Sandals

I love having a great pair of black shorts in a dressier fabric to wear on date nights with some tall heels in the summer.  Banana Republic has this pair in multiple colors in a 5″ length with a dressier feel but also with stretch to the fabric.  Don’t let the online picture scare you away as they look so much longer than they are on me.  They are also on sale in the black!

Stitch Fix has a new program you can apply and I don’t know all the details on how many individuals they will accept, but, for a one time fee of $49 you can order fixes when every you want without the styling fee each time.  I’ve chosen this option in order to receive more regular fixes to show off for you ladies here.

Hope you all have a beautiful day!  Happy last day of May!
