Spring in Texas

What does spring look like where you live?  Better yet, has your state gotten the memo that it truly is spring?  Well, today I’m sharing a little of what spring looks like for us in Texas!  Of course my very favorite thing about spring is the bluebonnets showing up all along the highways.  They only last through mid April  but once they begin to disappear other flowers take their place.  It’s the perfect time to take a country drive!

Of course with all the beauty comes a few growing pains like the ones our house has seen from pollen.  Everyone is finally 100% and momma seems to be the only one who wasn’t affected.  Lots of itchy eyes and runny noses and this year brought along a lingering cough. The perk is seeing everything turn green almost overnight it seems.

Bringing some spring color inside is also a favorite!  It’s the perfect time to brighten up the house and my very favorite is bringing home fresh flowers every week.

It’s the perfect time for weekend outings too.  Heading to a new park, the zoo, a botanical garden or even a drive in movie are perfect for this time of year in Texas.

My very favorite is the weather this time of year.  Cool mornings with highs reaching the low 80’s and evenings perfect for dining outdoors before the mosquitoes take up residence.  I’m even a fan of the rain and thunderstorms as long as they don’t hang around for days at a time!

Of course around here spring also means baseball season!  I’d lie if I said it was not on top of my list as a spring favorite!
