Royally Waiting (Link-up #2)
Waiting on my hair appointment! It seems like my hair will be just fine and then bam, roots for days. Tomorrow is my 6 week appointment and it could not have come too soon. Thinking I’ll continue to just nip the ends but dabbling with going a little lighter or a little bit darker. I’ve been testing out the Kristen Ess thickening spray from Target and it smells so good and it does seem to be adding some texture to my super fine hair.
Working on a consistent workout schedule. The past few weeks I took my own workout tips and added my workouts onto my calendar. Instead of just plugging in all the possible workouts I’ve been looking more strategically at my calendar for the week on Monday and plugging in the workouts that will fit. This one was a doozy but I felt quite accomplished at the end!
Reading is something I’m making more time for and I finished two more books in February and loved them both. Read between the lines for my February book review.
Thinking it’s time for some color on my pasty legs! Yikes, I’ve been wearing a few dresses since the temps have been in the 80’s and it’s no wonder everyone is wearing shades. No fear, my fave sunless tanner should be arriving next week. What is your favorite?
Considering starting a book club for women at work. I have tons of Christian based books to choose from but would also like some inspirational women’s leadership books on the list. For the first book my goal is to find 10 individuals around campus who would like to meet bi-weekly to discuss the topics in the book and leave feeling a little more empowered! If you have any book suggestions I’d love to hear.
Eating tacos! Last Friday I shared the chicken carnitas recipe we loved last week and we had a little taco Tuesday (even though Carly kept reminding me it was Fat Tuesday) celebration with the leftover chicken, some steak from the weekend and a new batch of regular taco meat. It was the perfect dinner for a Tuesday night! AND….I used my instant pot again this time to make charro beans. Y’all, this pot is a GAMEchanger. I love making a fresh pot of beans but really hate the soaking and the hours worth of cooking. I literally tossed in pinto beans with 4 cups water, rotel tomatoes, chopped cilantro, chopped onion, minced garlic and a 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder, cumin, paprika, pepper and salt and in 45, yes 45, minutes I had a delicious pot of beans!
