Prime Day Deals
Prime days are here! What is Amazon Prime Day all about? Well, it is truthfully a marketing tool to spur some commerce during a slow part of the year just like the ever loved (or dreaded) Nordstrom anniversary sale. If used wisely it can also be an opportunity to grab some items you have been wanting for a great deal or stock up on some gifts for Christmas early.
It is also an opportunity for Amazon to celebrate Prime members and you must be one to shop the sale price. Not a prime member yet? You can sign up for a 30 day free trial here (just remember to set a reminder on your calendar to cancel if you don’t love it). Or if you have a college student in the house the 6-month Prime student trial might be a win!
Amazon has definitely become a huge habit around my house that I have to monitor! It is often way too easy to hit “add to cart” and next thing I know boxes are showing up and I’m not 100% sure what I may find in them. So let me first start by saying, if you don’t need something DON’T BUY IT even if the deal is “too good to pass up”.
Today I’m sharing a few items I either love or have been looking at purchasing. Full discloser, there is not much info ahead of the sale so some of these may or may not be actual Prime Deals but all will be items I love or need want. I’m also sharing some of the services avaialable with a prime membership that make it worth it for me!
Also note, Target Deal Days also start today and Walmart is definitely offering some competitive pricing. I will list the competitive pricing where I find it.
Opening a bottle of wine became a lot less tricky when I added this cordless wine opener to my kitchen! It’s like $13 for Prime Day and would also make a great little gift to keep on hand for those wine drinkers in your life!
Not on the Instant Pot bandwagon yet but curious to try? I’m a huge fan and here’s why. A crock pot is an amazing tool and so easy to dump ingredients into and move on with your day. I’m the person who remembers at about 2pm I failed to put everything into the pot before I left for work! The instant pot has changed all that for me and I’ve found it’s much easier to pop items in after when I arrive home.
The biggest difference we have found, however, is the flavor is incredible. While the crockpot might provide me with tender meat, the instant pot makes the flavor so much more robust. You can head to my Pinterest page to see lots of fun recipes I’ve pinned.
If you have been considering the 23 and Me or Ancestry kit, the prime price will be of interest to you. My kids are all dying to do this so I’m considering grabbing as one of their Christmas gifts!
So we recently cut the cord and dumped our Direct TV. We already had one Fire Stick we were using to stream Netflix and Prime TV but it really did make the transition over to Sling TV seamless. Plus, with Alexa there is voice control and who doesn’t like to just boss the remote around instead of all the click, click, clicking.
Are you one of those who says you will never own a Kindle because you really like the feel of a book in your hands? Yeah, me too. I finally caved Christmas before last and grabbed the Kindle paperwhite for myself. What I’ve found is I still love a “real” book but I’m reading SO MUCH MORE with the Kindle. It is easy to carry on trips, to read in the car between carpool drop offs and it is also still easily readable in the sun at a baseball game!

You guys have heard me chat about this pocket printer in my travel bug gift guide and recently in my road trip favorites. I snagged during Prime Day last year and it’s marked down again! Such a fun little gadget to have on hand for quick prints.
Last November I grabbed this hanging toiletry bag before our trip to Anna Maria Island. I wanted something that would hold alot but pack rather flat since I knew I wanted to use a carry on only. Having a bag that will hang in a smaller bathroom I’m sharing with others is also always a win. I really do need to do a little demi to show how much stuff I can fit in this bag but trust me it’s a ton and all is organized with nice little pockets and zipper pouches. It has been on lots of trips since November and has held up great.
My flat iron has been on my list to replace for a bit now and I was super excited to find the Babyliss I’ve been looking at as a prime deal today! I’ve tried this one once when visisting a friend and loved the results.
The Kitchen Aid Chopper was a Prime Deal purchase for me last year and I have used this little tool like crazy! It works perfectly to chop veggies or puree some tomatoes if you have picky eaters like mine. My fave is it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Lots of great small appliance deals so if you are needing something I would check the deals out today.
Santa delivered the Nutribullet Pro for both Riley and me last Christmas and it has not disappointed. I definitely go through stages of making smoothies but have definitely been satisfied with how well this one handles frozen fruit. It may not be a Prime deal today but the regular Nutribullet and the Magic Bullet both are included. Of course if a “real” blender is what you want this Ninja has great reviews!
If you are like me and love photos but often worry about storage, an external hard drive is an added layer of security. This hard drive has decent reviews and especially for the price if you are needing a backup. Did you know with Amazon Prime you also receive unlimited photo storage? I totally just figured this out this past year and now all my photos back up to Amazon photo automatically. You can never bee too careful with precious memories!
