Friday Favorites – Spring

· · ·
You would think at some point I would accept the fact that time is just not going to slow down but goodness this week has flown by and I cannot even believe how I was waiting and waiting for March to arrive and now it’s almost over!  Here is a quick peek at some of my favorites this week!
{ONE}
I wish my closet was arranged a little different so I could rotate my clothes from top to bottom with enough room for everything to always hang but it just isn’t.  I’m a pretty good purger but with work clothes and play clothes I just don’t see it ever getting better.  For me this means I store my off season clothes in big vacuum sealed ziplocs in the top of my closet.  Thankfully I had enough time this week to pack away the heavy winter clothes and pull out my spring items.  Too bad I didn’t do this a month ago before I went all crazy buying some more of my favorite J. Crew shorts….didn’t need them!  Now I know I need spring tops and shoes and other than that I have way more clothes than I could really ever wear. I was able to purge one trashbag full of clothes and parted with two pair of tall boots…I may have shed a tear..but they had exceeded their life!  How do you organize your closet?

Spring cleaning!  I love a clean house even if it is just for a day. Today is the day my cleaning person comes and it is always one of my favorite days to come in from work.  We had not had someone help with the housework since Carly Jo was born but this past September I finally bit the bullet and decided it was time.  I always found myself a little bitter every weekend when my family was enjoying themselves and I was stuck catching up on housework.  I am grateful we are in a position where this is an option and have been so happy to have found a hard working college student to clean for me.  I had a deep clean in September and today that is happening again so I’m so excited!

Cooking at home!  For some reason cooking always becomes a little easier in the spring and healthier too.  We grill more and begin eating so many more fresh veggies.  We may even eat outside some nights!  We typically cook pork tenderloin on the grill but I knew Tuesday night our schedule was not going to permit.  I found this recipe for Balsalmic Pork Tenderloin for the crock pot and y’all it was so yummy!  We used this the next night for tacos and the following day I used the leftovers for lunch. Delicious!

A few of my favorite reads this week!
One of my favorite reads this week came from Flower Patch Farmgirl When Your Faith Doesn’t Fit the Mold.  I spent so much of my life feeling this way.
And Chelsea shared her thoughts on the struggle to be a perfect mom.  I think we all struggle with this and you can read her post here.
Finally, Katy’s sweet story about her precious little one tying in a message about apologizing in her Tiny Tales post.
{FIVE}
Not going to lie….this makes me super happy!  Evidently there is a good chance we are going to be pretty soggy next week so I’m totally going to enjoy every second of this weekend.  I found 23 pair of shorts in my closet {why?} so you know what I’ll be wearing!
