Friday Favorites – Christmas in July!
It has finally felt like a real Texas summer the past week! Even Dutch who lives for his walks is less than enthusiastic about being outside. What better way to cool down than to start thinking about Christmas right? I am typically not the Christmas in July type but then came the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and, well, shopping! Let’s get right to it!

So the boxes began arriving on Wednesday and let’s just say there was a text to Keith to prepare him that “I’m Christmas shopping and this isn’t all for me so don’t freak.” There were some winners and some losers in my boxes and it’s always a slight relief to me when I don’t love everything! Sorry for the picture quality but I really wanted to share these and last night was the only option!
I am in love with all three of these!! If you need a cardigan or a poncho I would really push one of these on you. They all fit great and seriously had me dreaming of a cold front.

And girls…these Wit & Wisdom jeans I cannot say enough about! I have a pair I ordered last winter that I love and I ordered a second pair in a size smaller (yes, please) and they are perfect…perfect weight, perfect stretch and they come high enough for the muffin top but not so high that they are not stylish.
I found Zella leggings last year during the anniversary sale and fell in love. They fit well, stay in place, have great patterns and colors and when they are on sale I always snag at least one pair! I also loved these PJ Salvage bottoms but also ordered the shorts and did not care for them. The BP soft shirt is everything I’ve read other bloggers say about it and I really, really wish I had listened when the chambray was still available. This white is no longer available but there are two other colors and it is a great top.
So, I ordered the Frye boots along with a pair of Lucky Brand boots thinking in my head that I really would love the Lucky Brand more. That all changed when I opened the Frye box and felt like I had walked straight into a western wear store. Y’all, if you love the smell of leather you could not turn down these boots! I am in love! And if that wasn’t enough they fit so well and were comfortable. I ordered my true size and love them! I also ordered the Lucky Brand booties and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they felt. Jordan wanted the BP Booties and I love the fade on the BP Booties. The color on these (chocolate) was slightly different than the way they appeared online but they also come in a burgundy color that would be perfect for Aggie football season!
I am sad to say I really thought I was going to be in love with this Hinge Stripe Cape and it was not fabulous, at least not to me. I did order a new Pleione Mixed Media V-neck in black because mine from two years ago is worn out and I have to say I love the new one even more. It is a little longer which will make it perfect to wear with leggings.

{Christmas Cards}
You are either a Christmas Card person or not and both are equally okay but I definitely fall into the first category! Creating my Christmas card and then sending and receiving cards is one of my very favorite things about Christmas! {Christmas in July Party}
How fun would it be to have a Christmas in July party?!! I never gave it much thought until today. We all love a reason to throw a little get together and catch up with friends so the holidays are always the perfect time..or maybe not so much. With all the hustle and bustle in December maybe a Christmas in July party would be fun! Jamie at Totally the Bomb had 30 great ideas for throwing a party in July!
Shopping and Christmas Cards is about as far as I’m going thinking about Christmas right now! Hope you all have a super weekend!
