This pizza crust has been in my freezer for months and I finally decided it was time to give it a whirl. I topped with some store bought pizza sauce, roma tomatoes, fresh mushrooms and mozzerella and pamesan cheese. I serioulsy think this was the best frozen pizza I’ve ever encountered! I like a crisp pizza crust and this cooked perfectly.

Normally having a card table set up in my living room for weeks on end would drive me nuts, but somehow even in this craziness I’ve been able to ignore it. This week we sat down and had a little game of dominoes.

In an effort to get my teens to actually spend some time with us, I grabbed a new game to try last week from Target. Honestly we all laughed a little and learned a few things we didn’t know….like that my kids have actually paid attention in history and geography!!

One thing I’ve been loving is evening walks with Keith and this week we came across several of these chalk motivations. I really do love how people are trying to inspire others!

Have you remembered anything that you once loved during all of this time at home? Well I remembered how much I use to love to send snail mail. At some point I think I got caught up thinking it needed to be bigger than just a card to say “I’m thinking about you”. Well I pulled out my card stash and have been sending some random and some not so random mail. I had to laugh because in the stash was a whole set of “keep calm” cards. How appropriate right?

I’ve also just randomly started facetiming people in my contact list and have had so much fun catching up with a few friends from high school. I use to talk to these people on the phone for hours and it just felt so darn good to see their faces and reminisce a little.

Wednesday my little brother sent me this picture of him celebrating my dads birthday with a visit to his gavesite. My daddy would have been 74 and it’s hard to believe this summer he’s been gone 16 years. He’s missed so much and we miss his presence.

Lastly, I’d like to take a minute to honor this guy right here. He was married to my sweet aunt who passed away when she was only 34 from cancer. He never remarried and has kept in touch with my family with Christmas cards and visits for years. He actually ran track for A&M and came to town often for indoor track meets and was even able to visit my Mamaw in early March. Shortly thereafter he contracted COVID19 and passed away on April 8th.

This article was shared by his daughter-in-law and written so well but it made me realize there was still so much I didn’t know about him. I knew he came from a big family (one of 15 siblings!!) and that he was an Aggie but I really don’t think I ever knew what a star he was. It was just another reminder of how we get so busy living our lives and forget to really dig in and get to know others.

Sheltering in place sucks. It’s not fun to be restricted from people and places we love. Going to the store makes me anxious. Instead of being sad over all that is lost to me right now, I’m trying to stay focused on the things I don’t ever want to lose again. True connection with other people! If nothing else this time has taught me it is one of my favorites!

If you are finding yourself shopping to ease some of your boredom there are some really great sales going on right now!
