Of course the only way to survive the Dog Days of Summer is to stay hydrated! My choice would be to grab margarita or a cold beer but since I’m working on clean eating this month, I’ve been opting for Perrier Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Water. HEB also has a store brand that is a dead ringer and cheaper most of the time. If I really want to splurge I will pick up a couple of Bai Pink Grapefruit..so yummy!
Welcome to the August Ageless Style Linkup! Last month we showcased a vacation look and since I was on a Missouri Roadtrip it was perfect timing. June was a simple summer look and this girls night out ditty was perfect! Now that most of us are experiencing the warmest time of the year, we chose Dog Days of Summer as our theme for the month.
I will be the first to admit I was not really sure about the scalloped shorts craze. I loved them on others but was really worried they would highlight the heavier part of my leg. I decided to grab a fun color from J. Crew Factory and give it a go!
A simple white t-shirt is often all you need to pull together a summer outfit. Nice and cool and a more forgiving cut, I love the Old Navy Relaxed Fit Tees. I snagged several for under $5 recently!
And who doesn’t love pineapples? Isn’t this Bag adorable? My friend Holly gifted it to me for Mother’s Day and it is from one of her faves Pura Vida! You can receive 20% off with the code HollyMcBerty96. I won a FitBit from work recently but since I already had one I was able to use the credit towards a higher priced version so I opted for the FitBit Blaze. So far I’m digging the fact I receive a sweet little vibration when I receive a text and I love the fact the band and the face can be swapped out.
Add a statement piece like the Kendra Scott Rayne necklace in a fun color and some leopard print shoes and no one will even notice when you become a hot sweaty mess!
Beat the Dog Days of Summer with my prescription for a stylish outfit; colorful shorts, plain tee shirt, fun necklace and sandals and add a pop with a statement clutch! Oh, and be sure to stay hydrated!
So what is your favorite way to dress for the heat?
Be sure to check out all of the ladies co-hosting the linkup this month and the looks they have pulled together.
