STARTING | To think about fall. Even though the days have still been pretty hot and humid, everything else around here is feeling like fall. College football is back, the kids are back to school and I’m ready to dump the salads for some soup. While I haven’t pulled all my fall decor out just yet, I did pick up a few things and combined with some items in my cabinet to style this tiered tray in our dining area. Sure was an upgrade since this has totally been full of junk mail, keys and any other odd or end we toss upon walking into the house!
BUYING | I haven’t been on too much of a shopping spree other than picking up 3 pairs of shoes during the anniversary sale but I did grab this long cardigan and I’m kind of crazy over it. The weight is perfect and the color so warm and you can see the first way I’ve styled it by visiting the cardi party! This pair of shoes have been on major repeat. They are comfortable, sassy and back on sale! I debated buying them in black and waited a day too long before they sold out in my size!! If it’s any testament to how much I’ve worn them, I already need to have the heel taps replaced!
SHARING | I shared this tote organizer in my stories yesterday because if you carry a tote, this is a total game changer and friends help friends! No lie, I LOVED this tote when it arrived in early July. The color is amazing, the quality great for under $50 (on sale right now in 3 colors) and I couldn’t wait to begin carrying it. So why did it sit on my bedroom floor until this week? Because there were zero pockets and only one little zipper pouch included. Enter the tote organizer and everything changed! This little baby arrived last Friday and it made all the difference. I felt like I actually had my shiz together this week heading to work and meetings without pilfering through my purse trying to find a darn pen. Seriously ladies, if you like an organized bag you need to check this out. Plus it comes in like 13 colors so you can pick your favorite!
READING | After wrapping up my August book review I borrowed If You Only Knew from my friend Katy and I have hardly been able to put it down. If you have ever struggled with letting ghosts from your past guide your walk with God this read will definitely speak to you. I also downloaded Crazy Rich Asians after seeing so many great reviews on the movie. This book has been on my list forever but I went back and forth because some people loved and some didn’t. Right now I’m about 5 chapters in and I’m hooked!
RECORDING | Memories! Not only have I been recording our summer by sharing our trip to California (see Long Beach and Sequoia National Forest) but I also spent time over the weekend scrapbooking 2016 and 2017 Christmas cards. Scrapbooking is like therapy for me and I was totally in my happy place putting all those memories into a book and then looking back at how everyone has grown and changed. My Christmas books start with 1998! Now, don’t ask me about recording the memories for each of my kids because they are currently just organized in a file box but baby steps.
