Bell Sleeve Beauty
Good morning and happy Monday! I am off today with a quick trip to my hometown to accompany my Mamaw to an appointment so I won’t be wearing this Bell Sleeve Beauty I’m showing off here today. It will be a long day but definitely just one of those responsibilities in life you cannot ignore.
We had a rather casual Father’s Day. I wasn’t prepared fully for any sort of wave of emotion to grab me hard but as we prepared for our offering at church and I heard the first words of a special song they chose were played I totally lost it. If you haven’t listened to Zac Brown Band’s song “My Old Man” and your sentimental about your daddy at all I’ve linked the video at the end of this post. The first words “he was a giant” totally crumbled me.
Grief is a crazy thing isn’t it? My dad crosses my mind almost daily but I rarely cry any more. Hearing this song in just the right place on Father’s day was like ripping off a band aid and pulling off the scab to release the blood again. Poor Carly Jo was not sure what to do with her blubbering momma.
My daddy left this world way too soon as so many do. I can only begin to imagine the pride he would have had seeing my kids grow up to be so successful. Whether it is their athletic ability or their work ethic, I know some of who my kids are came from my dad. It makes me laugh to even begin to think what my dad would have thought about this blog. Let’s just say I did not get my shopping habits from him at all! Although I can tell you when I find a tag that reads made in the U.S.A. I can hardly resist buying because it reminds me of him.
The one thing I know is he would have supported me because he knew it made me happy.
Wearing white is kind of like joy and grief together isn’t it? Not to make light but wearing white brings me so much joy during this time of year when I’ve begun to show the slightest bit of color. My problem is I am bordering on being one of the messiest humans alive so wearing white can sometimes cause me tons of grief.
The Target sandals continue to pull their weight and I have been wearing them multiple times a week since purchasing. I’m also kind of crazy over this bracelet from Noonday.
Keeping everything neutral but adding a few pops of color with my jewelry was just the simple look this dress needed.
Every closet needs a little white dress and this bell sleeve beauty has been a spring and summer favorite in mine! It sold out shortly after I purchased but I’m linking several I’ve found recently which look so similar.
