It’s a good thing being a fashion blogger doesn’t actually pay my bills because I would be out of luck lately. My closet is full of clothes I rarely ware and I just continue to feel a pull to reduce and simplify. It seems to always be a trend for me at the start of a new year. Right now I’m working on shopping my closet and tossing anything that doesn’t make me feel like my best self.

Take these courdoroy pants for instance. Y’all, they are so darn comfortable! I want so badly to love these pants. Truth is every single time I wear them I feel awkward all day long. While the color is one I love, I’m just not loving it on the bottom half!

So what better day than a Monday to give a piece one more try! I paired them with a favorite, but highly underutilized, top from Loft. It has also been in my closet forever but I still love it!

My booties are darling but have also sat for months without wear. They are comfortable but they also make my feet sweat! Sometimes cheap shoes do that for me and these are no exception.

One of my gifts to myself this Christmas was this new Madewell tote! I love that I was able to have it monogrammed for free and snagged on clearance for such a steal. It’s sold out but this calf hair version is super cute and an additional 40% off right now! Of course I organized it easily by swapping out the purse insert I already had in my summer tote!

Let me hear from you, are you shopping for steals and deals this January or trying to make the most of what is already in your closet? More choices have just not been my friend lately so I’m diving in and trying to not add anything new this month while saying goodbye to a few things.
