What’s Up wednesday (june 2025)

· ·

What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with ShaySheaffer.  You can find the questions in blue so check it out and join the fun. It has literally been a year since I have particpated and it’s truly wild how much can change in your life in one year .

Let’s go…..

What We’re Eating

I’m going to be honest, with Keith traveling so much during the week and it just being me and Carly Jo most nights there have been alot more girl dinners and alot less cooking. I really need to brush off my summer recipes and find some low maintenance favorites to bring back. Feel free to share your summer faves.

What I’m Reminiscing About

This month marks 5 years since my sweet Mamaw went to heaven and reunited with her family. Hers was such a story of love and grief on this earth as all of her children and two husbands left before her. She made such an imprint on my life but I definitely wish I had learned a liittle more about how to walk with her in her grief instead of trying to change it for her. She never lost her sass and I sure miss her some days.

What I’m Loving

Luka Duffel #travel #packing

The Luka bag has definitely become my favorite travel buddy. I am not kidding when I say this is like the Mary Poppins bag. It holds so much more than I would have dreamed and it still fits right under the plane seat. It has become my go to overnight bag too. It comes in two sizes and I have the large. It has definitely allowed me to travel with a carry on which I love.

I was a Beautycounter girl but after all the back and forth and wondering if they would come back full force, I finally started replacing my products with Colleen Rothschild and I’ve been so happy with the prooducts. Here is just a sampling of what I’m using.

What We’ve Been Up To

Not gonna lie, being with these two brings so much joy! I had them both at the same time for a few hours and boy do you forget how exhausting it can be mentally and physically to have two at once. Being their Honey is definitely the sweetest gift.

Old Faithful #yellowstone

Keith and I had the best time on our week away to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. The scenery, the company and the time to disconnect was much needed. My Grand Teton post should be up tomorrow.

I know we have to let our kids fly but having Dillon living 7 hours away is not my favorite. He now works for the same company as Keith, however, so we were able to meet up with him and his girlfriend Lauren at Kahlahari resort for the company picnic . Of course you can’t go to Kahlahari without the grand so Riley and Haisley tagged along!

Savannah

I just got back Monday from a weekend away with my darling friend Kellyann from This Blondes Shopping Bag. We have been friends for 10 years and this is the 5th time we met up in person. I just love her so much and she’s definitely authentic, honest and empathetic which are all qualities I adore but she is also a ton of fun. Hoping to have our trip recap up soon as we fell in love with the southern charm of Savannah.

What I’m Working On

Jordan and Jonathan were married at the JP last summer but will be sharing their love and vows with family and friends in October. We have done so much planning and crossed off alot already but there are a few things we still need to cross off our list! I can hardly wait to see my girl in her gown on her sweet day.

What I’m Listening To

With everything going on in the world, I find it’s much better for me to listen to a non partisan voice than to watch the news. Smarthernews is my choice and I’ve been listening to her podcast to keep up.

What I’m Watching/Reading

Hopefully I’ll have a midyear book review up soon because it’s been a hot minute since I shared what I’m reading, but currently this is what’s on my nightstand. I have loved this authoor and this book is shaping up to be another winner.

What I’m Wearing

I’m currently pretty much living in dresses! It’s so hot here in Texas but also my current midlife shape just seems to be happiest in a dress so I’m going with it.

This dress from Anthropologie has been in my cart forever and I finally pulled the trigger. It truly is such a great dress, both quality and style and it has been on repeat. Amazon has a dupe I’ve heard is just as darling with just a slight dip in qualiity but much cheaper. It does slay me that Amazon literally uses the pictures from the Antrho site for this add! And these little shoes have been so comfortable and bring the compliments.

I was so excited when this dress arrived and looked as darling as I hoped. Truly I just feel so cute when I wear this! I did have to use my handy little stitch fix gun in a couple of places where the buttons where wanting to gap a bit but other than that it’s a win. My shoess are from last year but this years style is almost identical.

This little dress has definitely been on repeat. I love the pattern and the fit so much and it is still long enough for me.

While we were on our trip to Wyoming I grabbed these Levis on a day I was browsing the local shops. They were a little pricey but I have worn them a ton already. I also replaced my old birks with a new pair. Never in my life did I think I would love this shoe but I do. They are so comfortable once they are broken into your foot and they last so long.

Seriously when I walked into a local boutique the week of my Savannah trip and saw this dress I had to have it! It’s so darling and drew so many compliments. I found it in pink and blue stocked and ON SALE for under $60! It has the most darling little cutout in back. I will be wearing this one for a date night soon!

This Anthro dress was another spring splurge but it has also been worn on repeat. It’s lightweight but lined and has some sweet rufflle and button detaills. It looks darling with sandals but also looks cute with boots and a denim jacket so I know price per wear it’s a win.

While this dress is a local boutique find, I did find it in the short version here. It is so cute and I love the color and texture. It is still really soft where sometimes the grid look dresses are scratchy.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

Hoping to see my baby brother to celebrate his 52nd birthday! Losing our mom this year held so many emotions and I know we always miss her just a little more on our birthdays.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

It’s time for our annual Juyly 4th trip and we are headed back to the lake this year. I try to alternate between the lake and the coast. Sadly I will be missing my Dillon this year but the rest of our crew will be there!

That’s alot of what’s up with me…what’s up with you?
