The Queen’s Chronicles – Mayday

This is it, the last week of the month and I’m calling out “mayday”. Not as in the fun festival but as in the distress call! Ha!

A bit of trivia to start your day. The word mayday initially began with a London radio officer in 1923 who came up with the idea for “mayday” because it sounded like the French word m’aider, which means “helpme.”

In all seriousness, May has not been bad at all just incredibly busy. We are so glad to have the school year behind us and summer officially underway. Here’s a peek at our last several weeks.

Carly Jo danced in not one, not two, but three dance recitals in May! Her studio combines the company dances with the rec dances for two recitals and since she was part of the production number this year she danced both recitals as well as the final company showcase.

Carly Jo has made some sweet friends and I’ve loved watching her grow as a dancer this year!

Of course it’s always nice to receive a fun trophy especially when it’s purple!

We have a new boutique in town and the owner invited me for a sneak preview. Everything in the store is < $70 and I left with this easy black dress with POCKETS! Threads Boutique can also be shopped online and they have some really adorable things and some accessories that are great price points! Did I mention they also have some plus size inventory AND free shipping? I’d love if you mentioned you heard about the store from me if you pop in!

A new HomeGoods store opened in College Station and it was a BIG deal! We are so excited to have it here. I was especially excited to be asked to participate in a little grand opening fun. The cart above was styled by me and was “served” to our local community during the grand opening times on Facebook and Instagram. It was so fun running across it randomly!

Jordan helped me pull together the rest of the campaign and we came home with a few fun items as well. You can see the full story in my grand opening highlights.

Our newest HEB actually has happy hour from 4-7. I’m not sure it was my most efficient grocery shopping trip! You can get pizza and 2 beers for like $10. How crazy is that? I mean I’m all for finding a way to build grocery shopping into date night!

Ahhh….the day teachers dream about! This mom is pretty excited too. The last few weeks of school always do me in. The kids were out before the long weekend for the first time in forever which was a special treat.

We headed to the coast for some sunshine and fishing! The water was a little murky and the water a little choppy but thanks to this amazing captain we had a great day. Our new boat is definitely an upgrade and rides so much smoother across the water.

Keith thought he was being cute when I headed out to grab a new fishing shirt for Carly and myself and he asked “are you going to buy us matching shirts?”. Well, we may not match but we definitely coordinate!

And even these two cuties didn’t mind dressing alike!

There will definitely be a little fish frying happening at our house this week! I mean, it is taco Tuesday right?

We joined our besties for the matinee on Monday to see Aladdin and it is SO GOOD! I always loved the animated version and they did such an amazing job bringing it to life!

While Keith & I headed off to an afternoon of baseball with Dillon, Carly headed for a sleepover with her bestie. How cute are they? Holden is the owner of Millie Mae who is training to be a therapy dog!

Now it’s back to work for this momma and a little break from reality for a few days for the kids. Both will be super busy with dance and baseball throughout June and I have a few projects lined up for them I’m sure they will be thrilled about!

Hope your surviving May with no need for a distress call! Enjoy your week!
