It’s been two weeks since I’ve posted a Queen’s Chronicle outlining our daily happenings.  September for us was full of lazy weekends and a few projects finally making their way off my list….or close to it.  I’m starting October feeling fairly relaxed which is kind of different for me.  Granted,  I have a couple of pumpkins and my new Happy Fall sign up and that is pretty much it.  I typically love decorating for fall but it is possible I’m going to opt to keep it simple this year.  Here is a quick look at what we have been up to!
Carly Jo celebrated her 11th birthday and of course the bestie was the most important person necessary at the dinner party!  I think Keith really nailed it a week or so ago when we were talking about how friends come and go and he said to her “Holden is more like your sister and you will always have her”.  Their friendship is so fun and I learn so much from these two.

Mom and dad with the birthday girl!  It’s hard to believe we just have a short 8 years before this one heads out and we are empty nesters.

Of course this one always gives me hope that I will still have someone that needs me! Ha!  Riley is still in Florida rehabbing but must be getting a little homesick because he doesn’t just call anymore but Facetimes us instead.  This child likes to get into the details ALOT about pretty much everything. If you can’t tell by my face I was trying to figure out if he was for real or full of it.  🙂
This lucky duck was invited to spend the weekend in Big D with the McBertys.  They spent some time hanging at the arboretum (I was uber jealous) and then watched as the Ags beat Arkansas!
I was so shocked to see my kid in every single picture just like he was part of their family.  It should not be a shock to see since we really are all more like family than just friends.

These two girls were hanging with me!  They crack me up because I will all of a sudden see one of them out of the corner of my eye and sneaking through the house.  Always, always since they were like 2 these two are up to something.  They were enjoying sitting in the rain before I realized it was thundering!

I pulled out this favorite scarf and combined for a more monotone look after seeing something similar on Carylee’s blog.  Taking outfit pictures is fun but sometimes it’s harder than it looks.

Case in point, I looked down and was standing in a bed of fire ants!  I have never kicked off a pair of shoes so fast in my life and proceeded to kick them across the yard!

If you haven’t stopped by the Target dollar spot lately, these cute plates and little glass jars are so cute!  They had several designs and I picked some up for my niece and nephew.  I love sending them little surprises.

Here is a little something to ponder.  I have a calendar on my desk at work and this one really resonated with me and made me think.

I headed to a conference in Houston on Wednesday with my boss.  We grabbed lunch at a little sandwich shop, Zeros, near our hotel and it did not disappoint.

Here are two of the outfits I wore while I was at the conference. Someday I am going to master a flatlay!!  I grapped these tops from Ann Taylor during a 40% sale and will shoe the full look soon.
Thanks to Erica I snagged one of these tops and was able to wear it as we headed over to watch the Aggies BTHO South Carolina with my friend Holly and her family.  Currently it is out of stock but it appears you can request to be notified when it is back in stock and there are several color options. This was the first time I’ve ordered from Kenlee Cait and I was impressed with how quickly I received and loved the quality.  Super soft!
Last week as part of Spiel the Beans I dished on a few Pins I have pinned but would probably never do.  Well, little miss saw this one and was convinced it was a good idea!  We made it happen on Sunday and it turned out so cute.
It makes a perfect fall decoration for her new big girl room!  We ordered the last item this weekend and hopefully once that arrives I will be able to do a room reveal.
And y’all, if you haven’t ordered Mix-and-Match Mama Eats: Crazy Good Go-To Meals you so need to! I’ve always loved her recipes but having a book broken down by month with suggested meals and desserts has been so fun.  Carly said tonight “I love that all her stuff can be made in like 25 minutes”. My girl likes to bake so she made the pumpkin angel food cake tonight and it was delish. Now I just need to give at least half away so I don’t keep eating it!

Not the grandest picture but I whipped up cheese enchiladas tonight. This was one of the meals I always remember my mom making and it has been ages since I pulled them together.  It was the perfect way to end the weekend.

The rest of our weekend was full of laundry and just hanging out.  I FINALLY finished The Royal We and have mixed feelings.   It was a good read just felt a little long and after making it ALL those pages I was left feeling a little anxious not knowing what happened the next day!!  We also are 75% finished installing the industrial style shelves in Dillon’s room and the canvas I ordered him arrived. Hopefully his room will be finished very soon too.

My sweet Jordan will turn 26 this week so we have a little celebrating to do!  It is also time for the rival football game between A&M Consolidated high school and College Station High School so it should be an exciting week.

Wishing you all the best week!
