Thanks and Giving Part 2

·
November is ticking by and we are still participating in #30DaysofThanksandGiving my friend Holly has blogged about.  You can see all of the great giving her family has participated in by reading her blog from Week 1Week 2 and Week 3.
Here is what the Janac family has been up to the past week or so.
Day 10:  Carly showed thanks for her Brownie troop by taking snacks to her meeting to share with her new friends.
Day11:  We love our friends so much and are thankful for what they bring to our lives!  Taking care of these sweet girls so their mom could spend some special time with their big brother was an easy way to give back to our friends.  Plus it was super fun!
Day 13:  I am very thankful for my nephew Thomas who made me an Aunt for the very first time!  I do not get to see him much now that he is off at college so I put together a care package for him with all the fun stuff college students love….and of course gift cards!
Day 14:  It has been unseasonably cold here in Texas and I always feel so sorry for the sweet staff who work to keep the drop off line safe at the elementary school.  We stopped by McDonalds and picked up hot chocolate to help keep them warm on a cold day.

Day 15:  We are always thankful for blankets during this time of the year so as I put all the items back into the cabinets from having them painted this past week, we picked out several blankets to donate to a local establishment that works with the homeless.  We also found several baby blankets of Carly’s that I did not even realize I still had and made a donation to Hope Pregnancy Center.
Day 16:  We are so very thankful for the kids Mimi and we cooked a special meal on Sunday to celebrate her birthday.

Day 17:  The cold weather also has us feeling so thankful for warm coats so we selected a few that had not been feeling too much love the past few years and we were able to donate right at Dillon’s school towards the Twin City Mission coat drive which you can find out more about here if you are in the area.
We are enjoying participating in #30DaysofThanksandGiving.  My hope is by bringing random acts of kindness and giving to the forefront this month will create long lasting memories with my kids and they will choose random acts all year long as well.  Showing kindness is easy and many times it is free!  You do not have to spend tons of money to offer a helping hand.
