Pantry Organization – Prime Finds

·

We have been lucky to have a walk in pantry in our house for almost 18 years but it truly just wasn’t as functional as I dreamed it could be. After deciding it was time to upgrade our flooring, I took the opportunity to demo our pantry as well to see if we could make it more functional. Today I’m sharing some pantry organization prime finds I’m using to create simple solutions for our family that look pretty too!

The old pantry was roomy but the configuration with deep shelves that were also far apart meant things got lost in the corners a ton. I also wanted the opportunity to relocate a few small appliances from the kitchen counter out of site so we added two electrical outlets.

Of course, making it look aesthetically pleasing was also a huge win for me! I loved mixing the hyacinth baskets (large or set of 4 small) with glass containers as well as plastic bins. The baskets will be used for storing items I want out of sight but still together in one place. I ordered these labels that clip on and come in a pack of 10 along with a white chalk marker. I’m loving how they create a finished look.

I’m not finding the exact glass canisters online (similar linked) but I grabbed mine for around $6 at Walmart. While I’ve been using them for years, they are still avaialble in the store in at least 3 sizes. Making use of as much space as possible in a functional way led me to use lazy susans in a couple of the corners to hold condiments and such. I also repurposed some of my extra large lazy susans for the larger bottom shelves.

The tiered shelf I previously used was too deep for the new shelves so I grabbed this one to replace it. I also chose clear containers (these have been my pick for years) for cereal and snacks like goldfish. It’s important to me to have something with a tight lid when closed just in case my little friends leave their snacks out and the dog is interested in partaking. I also added a few sectioned containers to keep items such as cereal bars, microwave popcorn and pop tarts organized and easy to grab.

I have just a few finishing touches to add to the pantry and then a quick trip to the grocery store to stock back up on a few things. Once I am all done I will be sure to share the full update but here is a quick sneak peak so you can see some of these items in action.

Now, if I can manage to pull the rest of my house back together! Having this work done has created a layer of dust over my entire house and it’s taking way longer than it should to clean everythng up. Hopefully by the end of the week we will be back to our normal chaos.
