NSale – What I Shopped

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale #nsale #sale

Happy Monday! It’s been on a bit of a blogging hiatus but for sure it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared anything fashion related. This is partly due to the fact that I really have just been shopping my closet. Love it or hate it, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to all and I truly love this sale. Why? I love grabbing a great deal on a few items that I know I will get my price per wear from at a great price!

Unfortunately, by the time most are able to shop, so many of the items are already sold out. This is definitely why I don’t waste my time creating a huge post ahead of time. I checked this morning, however, and there are some of my purchases still available so I pulled them together to share with you!

First up if you are shopping, the first thing I do when I search the sale is sort by discount. Like all sales, some of the deals are better than others. I personally think denim and shoes are the best deals during the sale and they are typically the first things I add to cart. If you are in the market for coats or other higher priced items, they seem to often have a higher discount as well.

The second thing I do is filter on the brands I love that are good quality but also fit me well. Brands that are a good investment and will go far in my closet but are also comfortable and flattering on my pear shaped body are what I’m most interested in. I typically shop shoes from Dolce Vita, Sam Edelman, Addidas, and my fave sneaker Nike flyknit. I pretty much exclusively wear Zella leggings and grab a pair or two each sale although these typically also go on sale in the late fall. High quality denim from Joes Jeans or Paige seem to fit my body the best and the discount on denim is one of the best during the sale. I also love the dresses from Maggy London, Julia Jordan and Eliza J.

In the past, I grabbed a multitude of sweaters and such but have just found that one, I don’t really want to think about trying on a sweater in July in Texas and two, similar type items will be on sale again in the fall.

I would suggest you have a plan and evaluate your closet for a quick minute before shopping. If there are some needs there, the Nordstrom anniversary sale can really be a great place to stock up at a discount.

Are you still with me? If so, here are the items I either grabbed this year or have grabbed in the past that are back again and still in stock as of this morning.

Carly Jo and I both have a very similar Dolce Vita boot I grabbed last December and we LOVE them. They were also a best seller for my followers as well. They look darling with dresses but also cute over leggings. I haven’t tried them under a pair of jeans yet but I’m sure with the right cut they would be darling. This year I ordered this short pair to try. Dolce Vita brand in general hold up well, fit true to size and I feel they are very comfortable.

Last year I also grabbed a similar Dolce Vita sandal which I love. This is the updated style for 2023 and it comes in several colors. Two shoes my closet really wanted to try were a pair of loafers and a great heel in a comfortable height. Enter these chunky loafers and this block heel I’ve heard so much about. Last year I really, really wanted a pair of red flats so I also grabbed these in red and neutral. I initially wanted them in the leopard print but Carly Jo told me that’s out. LOL…teens!

My closet was missing a pair of white chunky sneakers and I bought this pair earlier in the spring….this price is WAY better than what I paid. I do think they run slightly wide but nothing a pair of socks and tightening the laces didn’t fix. Jordan & I both have a pair and it’s all we wore on our trip to Chicago!

And of course, here in Texas, it’s summer 3/4 of the year so I wear my big buckle birks year round. I have these in a rich camel color that are several years old and if you have never tried birks they seriously mold to your feet and are so comfortable and hold up forever. I love this cream color and thought it was time to add a second pair. But this crochet slide has been showing up in my instagram feed for weeks so they were my one non practical shoe purchase. I’m skeptical whether or not they will be high enough across the top to be comfortable but they are darling and I’ll report back!

Jeans are, again, one of my fave purchases every year during the sale. Price per wear, I get my money out of a good pair of jeans. After wearing a pair of Paige bootcut for years, I switched it up and tried this pair of Joes Jeans last year. I LOVE them! I wear them at least once a week to work as they are nice enough to look business casual with a jacket. They are an extremely flattering fit for my pear shape. This year I grabbed several other pair of jeans that are already sold out but this pair of kick out crops by Madewell is still stocked. These are on their way for myself and Carly Jo so we will see when they arrive how we feel about them.

I ordered several dresses that are unfortunately sold out but this one by Julia Jordan and this one by Maggy London are still stocked in some sizes. I loved the colors and the styles as I feel they will roll into fall but also stretch to spring. These brands are great quality and I feel like they both fit true to size. If you are in between I always recommend stepping up.

Leggings are another purchase I always make each year, although this pair is almost always stocked year round and typically is marked down again in the fall. I grabbed this seemed pair to try as I thought they were fun.

Now I’m off to pray for my UPS guy in this terrible heat wave! I probably should leave him some snacks and water on the porch to make up for the number of trips to my door!

If you shop the sale, tell me what your buying!
