My Christmas vacation was coming to a close and it was going to be quite chilly today so I turned to Pinterest for some warm outfits that might take me from work and beyond. I immediately saw this picture and was confident I could recreate with items I already own. I wish I could create that hair just as easily!
I love the look of gingham and I have a grey sweater I love. I typically shy away from layering a bulky sweater with a button down fearing it would add too much bulk in all the wrong places. I also love that she added a statement necklace to dress it up a little.
Here is my take. I seriously have had this gingham shirt in my closet since spring but had yet to find a way to wear it that I loved until today! I paired with my Marissa boot cut slacks from Loft for my back to work look.

I cannot say enough about my Toms booties. I received the taupe color last Christmas and wore them constantly last year. They are super comfortable and went with absolutely everything….right up until I dripped butter on them during Christmas baking (super fail). I ordered the black pair before Christmas when they went on sale and I’m so glad I did! If you haven’t tried them they are worth a shot but wait for a sale for sure.
And look at this fun statement necklace that would be perfect with this outfit. It isn’t on sale but the price is not out of the question.

After work it was a quick change adding jeans and boots to transition to Carly’s girl scout meeting. I loved the pairing for work but I adore this look!! I really think this will be making an appearance pretty much every cold spell we have this winter.

Anytime I can transition easily from work to play it is a win for me. We typically have activities most nights during the week and I really am just more comfortable out of my work clothes. Plus typically my work clothes seem to remain in style for longer periods so I try to keep them looking their best.
What are some ways you transition from work to play? Or work to date night?
