It’s Friday before college game day which means our little town will be hopping as Aggies everywhere flood to College Station to watch the Aggies BTHO Ole Miss on Saturday. One of my dearest friends from college is coming with some other friends so I have been looking for some tailgate ideas. It will be a late game at 8pm and there is a 60% chance of rain so while we have a tailgate location staked out we will opt for a little at home tailgating if it rains. Regardless, with friends here I needed some ideas so I turned to Pinterest for a little inspiration and thought I would share the ideas that were my favorites.
Walking tacos….how perfect are these?!! I love the idea of using the actual Frito package as the bowl. One less thing we have to bring and easy cleanup. The taco meat can be prepared ahead of time and all the fixings will be ready on the side for a made to order walking taco!
We will have quite a little herd of kids this weekend so I was also looking for something easy and bite size for them to grab and go. These corn dog bites looked like a winner. I’m not going to lie I also see this on the menu in the future when I’m not feeling the full course meal planning.
Chips and dip are always a must and there will definitely be some hot sauce involved. I thought this dip would be a winner as well.
I also found these little appetizers and couldn’t help but think how fast these would disappear! Holy yum! The fact that they are titled Smoked Atomic Buffalo Turd…that’s what drew me in. Obviously boys have been in my life!
I’m thinking something easy like chocolate chip cookie bars for dessert. They are easy and I can find the recipe straight off the Nestle bag!
The food seems to be the simple part when hosting a tailgate. Carrying half my house up to campus and packing up after a late game seem to be the negatives. Regardless of where we end up hooking up we will have a great time catching up with friends.
I did find this link…lots of great tips and ideas on setting up a tailgate!
What are your favorite tailgate foods?
And on Fridays we wear maroon & white to support college colors day! My exact top is still available at Nordstroms. I love the fit and while it does show wrinkles a bit in the white I will take the trade off for the fit. My jeans came from a Stitch Fix I received in September but my friend at Burlap and Pearls restocked her “beet” colored jeans today so hurry while they last!
And it’s a little too warm for my tall boots but my Old Gringos are a nice transition to fall!

Happy Friday Y’all! Thanks..and Gig ‘Em!
