Friday Favorites – Random Roundup
It seems like every so often I have a week when I run across things I’m loving but they don’t necessarily make sense together. This is one of those weeks but I totally do not want you to miss out on these things so of course I’m sharing with you today in a random roundup.
I’ve been making my way through the Bible in a year using a chronological plan from bible.com since January 1st along with following the daily bible recap podcast. I cannot tell you how big a difference it has made to have this paired together as the recap has really helped with comprehension especially in the hard books (I’m looking at you Leviticus). On October 1st the recap will begin the New Testament and complete in December. If you have ever wanted to dive in but didn’t know where to start, START HERE!! I’d love for you to join.
I ran out of hairspray earlier this month and went weeks without and did a little request on instagram for favorites. While I have loved Kenra 25 in the past, the nozzle frequently plugs before I finish the can which is annoying (quick tip on that later). Several suggested this one and it arrived last weekend. I’m super happy with the hold, the smell and the fact that my hair does not feel “crunchy”. Exactly what I was looking for!
Kenra nozzle tip: I had one follower note that she holds the Kenra can upside down to spray straight air through the nozzle at the end of using which has kept her nozzle from stopping up.
This dress screams fall doesn’t it ladies? I was looking for something to wear to a little birthday party I’m throwing for myself in October and when I saw this I was in love. It doesn’t really match the colors I’m using to decorate but I ordered to try anyway. If it works I may at leat use this as my outfit for our fall family pics!
Speaking of Nordstrom, while the Nsale was totally irritating to me this summer, many of the itemns we did receive and love are back on sale (some even cheaper) and restocked. This pair of wedge sneakers is one of the birthday gifts I grabbed for Carly Jo and she LOVES them in the camo.
If you love ispirational podcasts that are quick listens for a short drive or just a little 15 minute escape, I love Emily’s podcast The Next Right Thing. This particular one I couldn’t help but share with my best friend who recently lost her daddy. She gave it a thumbs up. Emily has a very calming voice and I have found many practical tips from listening to her,.
Grief is such a lonely walk since we all walk through it differently and in our every day life we are constantly encountering others who are grieving some loss whether it is death, divorce or just some estrangement of a loved one. As we begin the holiday season this becomes even harder for some.
