Friday Favorites

I think I can, I think I can!  This is what I continue to repeat to myself each time I begin to feel a little anxious.  We have been going full speed since Spring Break with baseball or football most weekends. Add in an unplanned road trip back from California and a family fishing getaway Memorial Day weekend and this mom is behind in every single household chore.   At the same time I’m gearing up for my very busiest time of the year at work and all this has had me feeling a little overwhelmed some days.  Good thing is I know this is temporary and if I can just push through until July 4th we will have six weeks of no real schedule or commitments. I’m ready for some summer fun and a little downtime.

Enough about the crazy, let’s see what some of my favorites have been this week!

On Tuesday, Katy and I hosted Spiel the Beans and prompted other bloggers to share their favorite tips for vacation planning.  Elizabeth shared her tips for planning a successful vacation which included determining why you want to go on a vacation to begin with.  I have enjoyed many of Tanya’s vacation post in the short time I’ve followed her story and believe me this girl knows how to plan a fun vacation!  Check out her vacation planning tips.  I loved the pop up hamper idea Sarita from It’s My Girls World shared.  Emily of Simply a Rough Draft shared her #1 Vacation Tip of getting the kids invested in the trip with their own personal travel journal.   I just love that idea! These are just a few of the great ideas shared and you can see all the link ups including my Tips for Planning a Family Vacation here.
Thursday was National Fudge Day and thankfully I gathered a few “national days” together for a Celebrating Summer post so I was ready to celebrate.  This printable was so fun to make but even more fun to share!  Fudge brownie mix was only $1.29 and this was a super easy way to show someone I was thinking of them. You can download this printable here.  I loved receiving a Snapchat from JulieAnn  showing me her sweet delivery using the printable!!
Summer is definitely here and Michelle at Grammie Time hosted a Summer theme at her weekly linkup.  So many great post like Summer Picnic Ideas from Sweet Little Ones blog or Homemade Popsicles from Wendy’s Hat.
Definitely one of the highlights of my week was having Allison Taylor draw this adorable sketch replicating one of my outfits!  I can’t wait to frame it for my closet.  All part of the feature by her mom, Cathy, at My Side of 50 in which she featured several bloggers showing how to Rock a Summer Look .
We are headed to one of my favorite places to visit in Texas this weekend, San Antonio.  There is so much history, yummy Mexican food, entertainment, did I mention Mexican food?  Dillon is playing baseball but the games are such we will have some free time.  I’m checking out Top things to do in San Antonio and 100 Things to do in San Antonio Before You Die to see if I can find a few things for us to do.  We have surprisingly never taken the Littles to the River Walk so I’m thinking some Mexican on the water and a river boat ride might need to be on our agenda.
That’s all she wrote folks!  Thanks for stopping by.  Wishing you all the best weekend.
