Happy 15th Dillon

Today’s the big day this kid turns 15.  After watching my oldest two grow up so fast I’ve done my best to soak up every moment and would like to say things slowed down a bit but I sit here today amazed at how quickly this kid has grown into such a handsome young man.  There is not one piece of little boy left.  Not even a hint left in his voice.
He really, really wants to be serious like this.  Tough and untouched by any kind of emotion.
But I’m his momma and I know this smile.  I know his real heart despite the fact that it’s that time when he’s pushing just a bit more than usual against me.  It’s such a tough time for a momma’s heart but I know it’s a huge part of his growing up.  So when he asked me if I would take him and a friend on a weekend road trip to celebrate his birthday I couldn’t resist.
We headed to Dallas and the first stop was Topgolf.  If you have never been it’s so much fun.  You don’t have to be a great golfer to have some laughs that’s for sure.

Plus, yum!  They have some really great food too.

I purchased the City Pass with a few stops and as luck would have it the George W. Bush library was super close to Topgolf so it was our next stop.

I thought at the very least these boys would be interested in the 9-11 piece of the library but then I quickly remembered they were not even born yet.

Day 2 and it just wouldn’t be a weekend with mom unless she embarrassed your friend right?  I asked Dillon to take an outfit picture for me because the hotel was full of photo ops but Adrian just happened to be in my spot.  Thankfully he has been unphased by my crazy (at least I think he has!)

We grabbed donuts from Mustang Donuts near SMU and then headed to the Perot Museum.  If you are in the Dallas area this is definitely a win!  Even these boys had a good time exploring.

No pictures but we also headed to the 6th Floor Museum.  I’ve always been so obsessed with the JFK story and his death so I totally enjoyed it.  The boys, again, totally must just not be into history.

The rest of the time we have basically spent hanging out at the hotel.  I chose, Aloft, downtown Dallas.  While it is downtown and near many different  restaurants, it alsos just has a fun feel.  Most Alofts try to re-purpose old buildings and this one is no exception.  Loved the atmosphere, design and location.

After traveling with Carly and her friend to Fort Worth and San Antonio, this was quite a change. They don’t talk alot and when they do it’s usually to say “I’m hungry”.  Boys are kind of hard to predict and entertain or it’s possible I’m trying too hard!

After a long day, we are ready for bed!

Happy birthday Dillon Keith!  Hope your day was as special as you are.
