Curve Ball Friday

·
I really did start this week feeling pretty in control. I grocery shopped on Sunday morning and actually had a meal plan for not only the week but also our breakfast and lunches every day.
Monday morning I got back on track by dragging myself out of bed at 5am and spend some quiet time with the First 5 reading of the day.  I grabbed my journal where I have been working on keeping a more intentional prayer list and thanks to some inspiration from Holly I actually searched for scripture surrounding the people I was praying for. Then I decided why stop there, I picked four of those on my prayer list and I shared an encouraging text with a scripture; hopeful it would start their week on the right foot. Y’all, if you ever want to start your week off right I highly suggest doing this!
As many of you know it is Teacher Appreciation week and we have been so blessed by some amazing teachers.  Middle School is always the hardest and I feel a little guilty because I literally have only seen Dillon’s teachers once and that was only because I volunteered for a field trip. It has become a tradition each year to bring in lunch for the teachers in these older grades during Teacher Appreciation Week.  Jason’s Deli works perfect as I set up an online order and each teacher is able to place their own order and I deliver.  This is truly not too expensive and really does go along way to show a little love.  This is the final year for elementary school (the 14th year I’ve had a kid in elementary school!!! ) and the only thing I will miss about it is the relationships we’ve built with teachers.  I felt like I was really on top of this too as I ordered Shay’s Mix-and-Match Meal Planner to use for little gifts weeks ago and I finally put them together Thursday night.  Don’t you think they are perfect?!
Thursday was all about watching my tiny dancer perform.   Carly truly loves dance and I love the big smile on her face when she’s dancing.
Thursday was long though friends.  Riley has some stuff going on and I spent the day with my heart torn between College Station and Lancaster, CA.  I know I need to be patient and wait for some clear answers but all night I’ve been battling with whether or not I should hop on a plane first thing in the morning.  If you have been around here much then you know one of my biggest struggles is handling the unknown and turning it all over.  I know in my heart that God’s got this and I need you friends to pray that I will let him lead me right now because my momma heart is just trying so hard to stay in control.  All those years of seeing my mom worry about me even when I became an adult; well now I get it.
So that brings me to this next mention because, y’all, you just never know when you might be in an emergency situation and unable to communicate.  My friend Katy posted about adding Medical ID to your iPhone and if you haven’t done this already please take a minute and read her post here.  It’s simple and could just save your life or provided you much faster information if a loved one is injured.
We are suppose to be having fajita friday tonight before a busy weekend of 7 on 7 football and my newphew’s college graduation.  It’s possible the weekend will happen just as planned or there is a real possibility I could be on a plane to California.  Sometimes life just throws you a curve ball and you have to decide are you going to react quickly and swing or are you going to watch it closely, be patient and wait for your pitch.  So I’m waiting and hopefully Friday a sign will reveal itself and I will feel peace with whatever that is.  Sorry for being vague and as soon as we know more I will share. Just know for now that Riley and his family need some peace, wisdom and calm to get through the next few days.
Wishing you all a super weekend..
