Currently {February}

Ahhh...the 1st day of a new month! I was really just settling in nicely to January so let's see if I can pick up the pace in 2017.

I had grand plans to come up with 28 outfits from 28 pieces of clothes this month but then I was invited to Vegas and there went that!  If you are looking for a fun way to mix up your closet, hope on over to see the Create 28 Whitney and Carrie put together for February.

Here is what is currently going on over here to start February!

Packing....for VEGAS!  Ever since I started "rolling" my clothes we have been able to travel with carry on luggage and it is a game changer!  Cassie at Hi Sugarplum shared her tips for how to pack 10 days in 1 carry on  a while back.  Lots of great tips I've implemented the past few years ever since we missed a flight due to long lines and checked bags.

Jonesing....for a nice cold beer!  I have been on a little cleanse so no alcohol but what sounds best is a nice cold beer!  Betting I can find one on our trip!

Texting....my friends and family about the new (to me) clown emoji.  I'm not like super afraid of clowns or anything but they are a little freaky and given all the clown scares this past year this was just too much.  Okay, I may be being dramatic but that's what I'm texting about!

Reading...all the books!  Y'all, seriously all of 2016 I only read 12 books (see book review here) and I'm already 78% through with book number 5!
This book is so good and you will love it more after  you are done and read the prologue and find out this was loosely based upon something which occurred in the writers life.  I think we all have opinions about what we would do in some situations but this definitely gives you a bit of a new perspective to consider. You definitely want to pick up It Ends with Us just saying.
I really fell in love with this family and I always love books in a series.  All were typical Elin books, easy to read with characters you could relate to.  All in all this series would have made a much bigger impact had I not followed directly with It Ends With Us!
I'm currently about 78% through Before the Fall and I'm not going to lie, this book has definitely kept me turning the pages.  There have been a couple of chapters that drug along a bit but overall I'm captivated and cannot wait to finish!

Hearting....this guy!  We took our first trip to Vegas together in October 2000!  We were just babies.  See, even back then he was not a smiler!  If it was up to him I would still be this blonde. Can't wait to spend some time having fun together!
Today I'm joining Anne and Erin for a look at what is currently going on over here as well as Jenn and Jessi for What's Hap-"pinning" Wednesday and the fun ladies below for What We're Reading Wednesday!

  2. Have a fabulous trip! My #2 is deathly afraid of clowns. She won't update her emojis!! Poor kid. I really don't think it was necessary to be honest, and was in poor taste given all that took place this past fall.

  8. Those books all look so great! Will have to give them a look!! It is my turn to pick our book club book soon. And have a great time in Vegas! My husband and I just got back and we had an AMAZING time. Not sure if you plan to stick to the Strip or if you are going to do any day adventures, but we LOVED Red Rock Canyon (gorgeous scenic drive and hiking spots) and getting to see the Hoover Dam. The wineries are worth the drive too!

  27. That clown emoji is the creepiest thing I've seen in awhile! I had no idea it was on there. Now I'm going to have to find it! Vegas? How did I miss that you're going on a getaway? Have a wonderful time! Thanks for the packing inspiration too. I am a pretty light packer, but need to get serious about just bringing a carry on!

  31. Thanks for hosting Erin! I'm definitely putting create 28 on my to do list for next year.

  32. Wasn't it though? It's always so easy to sit on the outside and watch a situation and think you know for sure how you would handle only to realize that's so easy when you are not emotionally vested. Have a great weekend Lana!

  33. Tanya if you guys ever go the carry on route you wil never fly any other way (except maybe over seas!). This is our third time traveling this way and I'm confident I still overpacked!

  34. Nancy do you have another one of her books you would suggest!! I'm almost done with Before the Fall and need to download another good read.

  35. i will most certainly drink a beer for you Sarah! What's your fave?!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Brittany I am such an over packer too! The first time I was slightly panicked but I still had more than I needed. I seriously think the trick is the roll method to fitting more into the bag! Everyone needs to visit Vegas at least once!

  37. Angry Orchard!!! Or any strawberry flavored beer!

  38. Her stand-alones November 9 and Confess were great! She also has two series, Hopeless and Slammed which are awesome as well!
